No—the available deal listings do not prove that the US has better 4K Blu-ray deals than the rest of the world. The clearest US–UK price examples are from June 25, 2026, while the current October 6 sale roundup cited here covers UK Amazon listings only. Neither gives a matched, after-tax and delivered comparison across countries.

What the current October 2026 deals show

T3’s October 6, 2026 roundup lists seven 4K Blu-ray picks from Amazon UK: The Batman, Edge of Tomorrow, A Complete Unknown, The Shape of Water, The Greatest Showman, The Martian (Extended Edition), and Blade Runner: 2049. Its examples include:

Film Listed UK price Earlier listed price
The Batman £16 £19.99
Edge of Tomorrow £16 £19.97
Blade Runner: 2049 £19.43 £24.99

These are prices in a dated UK sale listing, not evidence of how US prices compare. T3 says many October items are cheaper than in the retailer’s June sale, but that observation is about its UK listings. The figures do not establish current availability or a price in another country. See T3’s dated UK deal roundup.

What the US–UK comparison shows—and what it does not

A June 25, 2026 TechRadar roundup gives examples from Amazon US and Amazon UK, including 2001: A Space Odyssey at $12.99 in the US and £16.96 in the UK. Those are nominal prices in different currencies. Without converting them at a stated exchange rate and adding delivery, taxes, and any relevant eligibility costs, the figures alone cannot show which offer is cheaper for a buyer. The article also uses separate price thresholds—under $15 for US deals and under £17 for UK deals—rather than a matched basket of identical editions. Read TechRadar’s June comparison.

That June example is useful historical context, but it is not a comparison of the October event. It also covers the US and UK, not “the rest of the world,” and does not calculate a market-wide winner.

Why a sale event does not mean the same deals everywhere

Amazon announced Prime Big Deal Days for October 6–7, 2026 in the US and Europe, with both the US and UK among the participating countries. The announcement establishes the event dates and participation; it does not say that the same 4K Blu-ray editions, discounts, stock, or eligibility rules apply in every storefront. See Amazon’s US event announcement and Amazon’s Europe announcement.

How to tell which country has the better deal

To compare offers fairly, use the same film and disc edition in each country, then compare what a buyer actually pays—not just the number shown beside the listing.

  1. Match the edition. Check that both listings are for 4K Blu-ray and the same edition, including any extended cut or bundled discs.
  2. Use current listings. Record the storefront, price, stock status, and date. A past sale price is not a live offer.
  3. Convert the price. Compare currencies using a stated exchange rate and conversion date.
  4. Add delivery and tax. Include shipping, import costs where applicable, and the taxes the buyer will owe.
  5. Check eligibility. Note whether the offer requires Prime or another condition that affects the buyer’s cost or access.
  6. Assess the discount baseline. A sale label or percentage off is not enough by itself; compare the deal with a recent price for that same edition.

The cited deal articles do not supply all of these inputs for a current, matched international basket. As a result, they support a limited comparison of selected US and UK listings, not a reliable ranking of countries.

So, does the US have it better?

These listings do not prove that it does. The October evidence here is UK-only, and the clearest US–UK example is from June. A defensible claim about which country offers better value would require current prices for the same editions across the markets being compared, with currency conversion, shipping, taxes, and eligibility accounted for.
