Those are controlled-test maximums—not guaranteed time for a typical flight or a planned shot. Wind, use, environment and firmware can change the result, and DJI’s published tests use different speeds for the two batteries.
How long does the DJI Mini 5 Pro battery last?
DJI’s current product listings give different maximum flight times for the two compatible batteries. Each figure is an advertised test result ending in a forced landing due to low voltage; it is not a promise that the full duration will be available for filming and returning safely.

The figures are not a like-for-like comparison: DJI lists 21.6 kph for the standard battery test and 25.2 kph for the Plus test. The advertised 16-minute difference should not be treated as a guaranteed real-world gain. Because the tests end at forced low-voltage landing, plan to land with reserve rather than treating the stated maximum as usable time for a route or shot.
Which Mini 5 Pro battery should you choose?
Standard Intelligent Flight Battery
The standard battery is rated for up to 36 minutes under DJI’s stated controlled conditions. Its listed capacity is 2788 mAh, and its model number is BWXNN5-2788-7.0. DJI recommends fully charging it before each use.

Intelligent Flight Battery Plus
The Plus battery is rated for up to 52 minutes under its separate test conditions and has a listed capacity of 4680 mAh. DJI warns that using it takes the aircraft above 249 g. Check the rules that apply where you fly before choosing it; weight thresholds and operating requirements depend on location.
The best choice depends on the flight time you need, local rules and how you will manage charging between flights. Either published maximum can be reduced by conditions and use.

How can you make a Mini 5 Pro battery last longer in practice?
No setting or accessory can turn DJI’s maximum into guaranteed flight time. The most useful approach is to avoid planning right up to the low-voltage test endpoint and account for conditions that can change the result.
- Plan a reserve. DJI’s maximum tests continued until forced landing due to low voltage, so do not schedule a shot or return journey that depends on using every advertised minute.
- Allow for conditions. Wind, environment, how the aircraft is used and firmware can affect actual flight time, according to DJI.
- Choose the battery with rules in mind. The Plus battery has the higher published maximum but takes the aircraft above 249 g; confirm local requirements before flying.
- Bring a compatible spare for a longer session. A spare can provide another charged battery after landing. It extends the time available across a session, not the runtime of the battery currently in the aircraft.
Charging and storage: preparing for the next flight
Charging before use
DJI recommends fully charging the Intelligent Flight Battery before each use. Charge through the aircraft’s USB-C port or with the charging hub; charging is not supported while the aircraft is powered on. DJI gives an approximate 82-minute charge time for one battery with its 18W Charger. That estimate is specific to that charger, not a general charging-time guarantee for other power sources. Using a charging hub
DJI lists a Mini 5 Pro Two-Way Charging Hub as a compatible product. A hub can help manage charging for multiple batteries between flights, but it does not increase the flight time of a battery in the aircraft. Check the Mini 5 Pro product page for the product listing in your region.
What happens while a battery is stored
DJI says the battery automatically discharges to about 96% after three idle days and to 60% after nine idle days. Moderate warmth during this process is normal. On the Mini 5 Pro, you cannot manually set when this auto-discharge behavior starts. Details are in DJI’s battery self-discharge guidance.
