The original Switch edition is supported on Switch 2, but Nintendo says its game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch; that compatibility statement does not mean it receives the dedicated edition’s advertised enhancements.

Do the Switch 2 graphics and performance improvements have exact figures?
No. Nintendo and THQ Nordic describe the dedicated edition as having higher-resolution visuals and an improved framerate, but neither cited product page gives resolution or frame-rate targets. Those are publisher claims, not independently verified measurements. The available information also does not establish comparative load times or battery life.
Can you play the original Switch version on Switch 2?
Yes. Nintendo’s US listing for the original Switch edition marks it as “Supported” on Switch 2 and says, “Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch.” Nintendo’s general compatibility guidance notes that some Switch games may not be supported or fully compatible and directs owners of third-party games to the publisher for specific details; for this game, the product-specific listing is the relevant compatibility statement. That compatibility status is distinct from buying the dedicated Switch 2 edition. Nintendo’s listing does not say that the original edition receives the dedicated edition’s higher-resolution visuals, improved framerate, mouse-style controls, or included Costume Pack DLC.
Which version should you choose?
Choose the dedicated Switch 2 edition if you want its advertised extras
It is the straightforward choice if you want the edition Nintendo and THQ Nordic describe as having higher-resolution visuals and an improved framerate, want to use Joy-Con 2 mouse-style controls, or want the Costume Pack DLC included. Keep in mind that the official descriptions do not quantify the visual or performance differences.

Keep or play the original Switch edition if you already own it
Nintendo lists the original edition as supported on Switch 2 with game behavior consistent with Nintendo Switch. If that meets your needs, the compatibility listing gives no reason by itself to buy another edition. The cited official sources do not establish an upgrade price, save-transfer behavior, or save compatibility between editions.

Both versions are Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, a remake of the 2010 game and a single-player 3D platforming adventure. Mickey explores Wasteland and uses paint and thinner to affect the environment. THQ Nordic also describes dash, ground pound, and sprint as added movement features of Rebrushed. The distinction discussed here is between the dedicated Switch 2 edition and the original Switch release, not between two different games.
