It gives no Dionex migration date, project scope, cost, or results. What is documented is that other organizations used AccelOps to replace Cisco MARS and that the product combined security-event analysis with broader infrastructure monitoring.
What is documented about Dionex?
A 2010 AccelOps release names Dionex as a customer and describes the platform as combining network-operations and security-operations monitoring. It does not say which product Dionex replaced or explain how Dionex deployed AccelOps. The 2010 release therefore supports the customer relationship, not the specific Cisco-to-AccelOps upgrade in the title.
The available material also does not report Dionex-specific migration timing, implementation details, savings, or performance changes. Those claims should not be inferred from AccelOps projects at other organizations.
Why did organizations replace Cisco MARS?
Cisco MARS was an enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) appliance. AccelOps migration material framed the product as a replacement after Cisco announced MARS end of life. The document described real-time and historical log analysis, event correlation, compliance reporting, and a scalable virtual-appliance design as parts of the alternative. AccelOps’s MARS migration document presents the vendor’s positioning; it does not establish Dionex’s decision or experience.

A separate customer case study describes California Casualty replacing its end-of-life Cisco MARS appliance with AccelOps. The case study quotes Skip Moon, the company’s assistant vice president of network development and engineering: “Cisco wouldn’t do [a simple software] upgrade and wanted a whole new start-from-scratch license. We realized we had to do something”. This is California Casualty’s explanation, not a statement by Dionex. The California Casualty case study does not say Dionex faced the same licensing issue.
What did AccelOps offer beyond security-event management?
The described distinction was breadth: AccelOps combined SIEM capabilities with monitoring for other IT operations, rather than focusing only on security events. The documented functions and their evidence are:

| Data collection | In the California Casualty case, AccelOps collected infrastructure data, syslog, and NetFlow. This describes that customer’s deployment, not Dionex’s. Source: California Casualty case study |

| Consolidated monitoring | A 2015 AccelOps release describes a virtual appliance providing a consolidated view of security, performance, and compliance, with cross-correlation and statistical anomaly detection. Source: 2015 release |
These sources describe product capabilities and other customers’ use; they do not demonstrate which features Dionex adopted or how well they worked in Dionex’s environment.
Which reported results belong to California Casualty?
The available customer metrics are from California Casualty, not Dionex. Its case study describes an organization with about 700 employees, two data centers, and three call centers, and reports an AccelOps product cost of about $100,000. These are case-study figures for that customer’s circumstances; they are not a Dionex price, a general AccelOps price, or proof of savings from a migration.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What can readers conclude?
The evidence supports a narrow conclusion: Dionex was named as an AccelOps customer in 2010, while a Cisco MARS-to-AccelOps replacement is documented for California Casualty. AccelOps was presented as a broader monitoring platform with SIEM-related analysis and reporting, but the available sources do not confirm that Dionex upgraded from Cisco or identify any result from such a migration. They also do not establish AccelOps’s current availability or corporate status.
