The Dell XPS Googlebook is one premium laptop; Chromebook Plus is a category of laptops from multiple manufacturers. If you want the Dell’s specific display, hardware and Android-phone features, it may fit. If you want to spend less, compare its price and specifications with a particular Chromebook Plus model—not with the category as a whole. The available official specifications do not establish an overall performance winner.
What are you comparing?
The XPS Googlebook DX13267 is a specific Dell model running Googlebook OS. Chromebook Plus is Google’s designation for qualifying laptops made by different manufacturers, with varying prices and configurations. Google’s October 2023 Chromebook Plus announcement set minimum hardware requirements; it did not define a single laptop with one shared display, battery life or price.
That distinction matters: to decide which is better value, choose an actual Chromebook Plus model and compare its current configuration with the Dell. Without that model—and comparable independent testing—there is no sound basis for declaring one a performance winner.
What does the Dell XPS Googlebook cost, and what do you get?
On October 7, 2026, Dell’s U.S. listing showed the XPS Googlebook DX13267 at $999.99, while the Google Store specifications page listed it at $999. These are dated U.S. listing prices, not guarantees of current price or availability.

How does Chromebook Plus compare on hardware and price?
Google’s October 2023 launch announcement gave Chromebook Plus minimum requirements of an Intel Core i3 12th Gen or newer, or AMD Ryzen 3 7000 series or newer; at least 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage; a 1080p-or-better webcam with temporal noise reduction; and a Full HD IPS-or-better display.
Those are category minimums, not specifications for every current Chromebook Plus model. A particular model may exceed them, and its exact processor, display, memory, storage, ports, weight and price must be checked in its own listing. Google’s $399 starting price was the category’s 2023 launch price; it is not a current 2026 quote. Compare live prices for the actual configurations you are considering.

Which features might make the Dell worth choosing?
A high-resolution touchscreen
The Dell’s 13.4-inch, 2560 x 1600 touch display is more specifically defined than Chromebook Plus’s category-wide Full HD IPS-or-better minimum. Google lists 500 nits and a 30–120 Hz variable refresh rate for the Dell. Whether that difference matters depends on the competing laptop’s actual panel and how you use it.
Android phone continuity
Dell says the XPS Googlebook can surface Android phone files, photos and downloads, and keep notifications, messages and app context aligned; it also says Android apps are accessible without additional installs. These are Dell’s stated capabilities, not independent findings. Do not assume that every Chromebook Plus laptop implements the same features in the same way: verify support for the specific laptop and phone combination.

Googlebook OS support and launch offer
In its Google Store specifications and Google product information, Google says Googlebook OS receives feature drops and updates for up to 10 years. Google’s September 2026 launch overview also says purchases include 12 months of Google AI Pro with 5 TB of cloud storage, subject to offer eligibility. Confirm the support terms and offer for the exact product, country and purchase date. The 2023 Chromebook Plus announcement does not establish current support terms or subscriptions for a particular Chromebook Plus model.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How should you read the battery claims?
Dell’s September 2026 launch announcement advertises up to 16 hours of Netflix streaming. Google’s specification page says up to 18 hours, but the retrieved specification passage does not give the test context for that figure. The two estimates use different wording and are vendor claims, not directly comparable independent test results. For a practical comparison, look for a reliable reviewer’s battery test of the specific Dell and Chromebook Plus models using the same method.

Which laptop should you buy?
- Consider the Dell XPS Googlebook if you want its particular 13.4-inch high-resolution touchscreen, listed Snapdragon X Elite configuration and Dell-described Android phone continuity, and its current price fits your budget.
- Consider a Chromebook Plus laptop if you are prioritizing a lower-cost option or want to choose from multiple manufacturers. Compare the exact model’s price, screen, processor, memory, storage, update support and app compatibility with the Dell before buying.
Google’s September 2026 overview describes five Googlebook launch models from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo, a starting price of $899, and U.S. store availability from October 4, 2026; it says availability in Canada, the U.K., Ireland, France, Germany and Australia began October 5. Those are launch statements, not confirmation of current stock or a price in every market. They also do not change the central comparison: the Dell is a named model, while Chromebook Plus requires you to select a specific competing laptop.
