Baba is a control-oriented, Spirit-scaling skirmisher whose kit combines Spirit theft, gun follow-up, mobility, area effects, and a channelled slow-and-hex ultimate. That role description is an interpretation of her abilities, not an official or settled competitive classification. Baba became playable in the October 6, 2026 update, so her balance and competitive standing may change as the game is patched.
What are Baba’s abilities?
Baba has four named abilities: Threadsap, Granny Long Legs, Baba’s Brew, and Feed The Birds. Their exact balance values can change, but their current mechanics point to a clear pattern: create an opening with an ability, then use movement, gunfire, or crowd control to press the advantage.
1. Threadsap
Threadsap sends a thread along the path of Baba’s crosshair, bursting along that path to deal Spirit damage and steal enemy Spirit. While she holds stolen Spirit, each bullet she fires deals bonus Spirit damage. Its documented upgrades include reduced cooldown and longer debuff duration; the top tier adds a charge and pulls an enemy on hit. unDeadlock’s Threadsap reference lists the ability and its patch history.
In practice, try to land the thread before committing to a burst of gunfire: the hit both pressures the target and enables the temporary bullet benefit. The pull at the top upgrade tier can add follow-up pressure, but it is not part of the base effect.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
2. Granny Long Legs
Granny Long Legs extends the legs of Baba’s bench, giving her movement speed, higher jumps, and resistance to debuffs and melee damage. Her light melee kicks enemies back. Her heavy melee ground-pounds, knocking enemies up and slowing them while dealing Spirit damage. Crouching charges a high jump. See unDeadlock’s Granny Long Legs reference for the documented mechanics and changes.
This is both a repositioning tool and a way to disrupt nearby opponents. Use its movement and resistances to enter or leave a fight, and its melee effects to interfere with enemies who get close.

3. Baba’s Brew
Baba brews and throws a pot that applies one of three cycling area effects: a combat barrier, silence, or a burn that deals Spirit damage over time and reduces Spirit resistance. She can pause or resume brewing, letting her wait for the effect she wants as the cycle turns. The effect cycles; it is not freely selectable. Details are in unDeadlock’s Baba’s Brew reference.
Watch the cycle and pause the brew when the useful effect is ready. A barrier suits a defensive moment, while silence or the burn may better support an offensive play, depending on the current fight.

4. Feed The Birds (ultimate)
Feed The Birds channels bread onto targets in front of Baba, applying stacking slow. When the channel ends, pigeons bombard the target, dealing Spirit damage and hexing it into a pigeon. More bread increases the damage and hex duration. The ability description does not establish guaranteed kills or that the effect applies to an entire team; consult unDeadlock’s Feed The Birds reference for the listed mechanics.
The key decision is when to end the channel: more bread strengthens the eventual effect, while the channel itself slows targets. Use that window to set up control rather than assuming the ultimate will finish an opponent.

What kind of hero is Baba?
Baba reads as a utility-focused skirmisher with Spirit scaling and several forms of control. Threadsap rewards landing an ability and following with bullets; Granny Long Legs supplies mobility and close-range disruption; Baba’s Brew contributes a cycling area effect; and Feed The Birds creates a channelled slow followed by damage and a hex.
This is a kit-based description, not an official role label or evidence of a settled lane or team composition. No best build, win rate, or competitive tier is established by the available launch-era information.

How should you approach Baba’s playstyle?
- Start with a hit you can use. Threadsap is most distinctive when its Spirit theft leads directly into bullet follow-up.
- Use movement to manage distance. Granny Long Legs offers a charged jump and resistance alongside melee disruption, so it can help Baba engage, escape, or interrupt close pressure.
- Time the brew rather than treating it as a menu. Its effect cycles among barrier, silence, and burn; pause or resume the brew to align the available effect with the fight.
- Plan around the ultimate’s channel. Feed The Birds slows during the channel, then applies its damage and hex when the channel ends. The bread count affects the result, making timing a meaningful trade-off.
Baba’s current baseline stats
Deadlock Labs’ 2026 hero reference lists Baba at 780 starting health, 2.5 health regeneration per second, and 2 stamina. These are a snapshot from that reference, not permanent values; live-game balance changes can make them outdated. See Deadlock Labs’ Baba reference.
