DaVinci Resolve 18.6.6 is a March 20, 2024 maintenance release. It added two encoding options and fixes for specific media and project issues; it did not introduce every feature associated with the broader Resolve 18.6 release. The release announcement also lists minimum requirements by operating system, which are distinct from the requirements on Blackmagic Design’s current download page.
What changed in DaVinci Resolve 18.6.6?
Blackmagic Design announced Resolve Studio 18.6.6 on March 20, 2024. The company said the update was available at no charge for existing customers. The release notes list these changes:

- Encoding big-endian LPCM audio in QuickTime.
- A fix for default alpha-mode interpretation in some QuickTime media.
- A fix for path separators in some Windows project settings.
- A fix for some Sony XAVC H clips appearing offline.
- Improved media management when trimming Sony 8K X-OCN clips.
- General performance and stability improvements.
These are targeted additions and fixes, not a complete list of the broader Resolve 18.6 feature set. See the 18.6.6 release announcement for the official notes.
Minimum system requirements for version 18.6.6
The following are the historical minimums listed in the 18.6.6 announcement. Meeting them does not guarantee smooth playback or rendering for every codec, resolution, or project. Blackmagic Design advises checking the installer readme for exact compatibility.

Quick Recap
Best Value
- Over 120 DaVinci Resolve shortcuts, printed right on the keys, so the reference sits on the key you press. Up to three shortcuts per key, colour-coded, and chosen from what editors and colourists reach for most.
- Built for DaVinci Resolve: the printed shortcuts follow Resolve's default keyboard layout.
- Fully washable protection: dust and spills land on the cover, not inside your keyboard. Rinse it under the tap and put it back - a spill is a rinse, not a repair.
- Fits MacBook Pro 14/16 (M1/M2/M3/M4/M5), MacBook Air 13/15 (M2/M3/M4/M5), MacBook Neo 13 (A18 Pro). US English layout (ANSI).
- Canadian design since 2009: we've worked out every shortcut layout in our Vancouver studio, on the same MacBooks we use all day. 12 month warranty.
Rank #4
- Built for video editors and colorists: Resolve's most-used commands come pre-mapped one per key, named and color-coded so you can scan quickly while you edit.
- Remap anything in KeyStudio, the browser-based remapping tool we built for Dash keyboard. Nothing to install, and the layout saves onto the keyboard so it works the same on every machine you use.
- 20 spare shortcut keycaps in the box: move the keys to match the way you actually cut and grade, rather than learning someone else's layout.
- The compact, low-profile design frees desk space and keeps your mouse within reach for better posture. Winner of the Red Dot Product Design Award in 2025 and designed in Vancouver, Canada. We've been building tools for creative work since 2009, and every Dash comes a 12 month warranty.
- Tri-mode connection across Mac, PC, iOS, iPadOS, Android and Linux: Bluetooth for three devices, 2.4GHz wireless or USB-C wired, on a 3500mAh battery good for 450 hours.
