CrowdStrike announced on January 8, 2025, that three Falcon modules—Next-Gen SIEM, Falcon for IT and Falcon Data Protection—were available to government entities requiring FedRAMP Moderate authorization through the Falcon Platform in GovCloud. A separate, current FedRAMP Marketplace record lists Falcon Platform IL5 SaaS as FedRAMP Certified; that platform-level record is distinct from the 2025 announcement.

Which CrowdStrike Falcon modules did the announcement cover?

CrowdStrike’s January 8, 2025 announcement named three modules: Falcon Next-Gen SIEM, Falcon for IT and Falcon Data Protection. The company said the modules were available to government entities requiring FedRAMP Moderate authorization through the Falcon Platform in GovCloud.

The announcement describes a shared set of capabilities—real-time threat detection, asset visibility, centralized log management and data protection—but does not publish separate feature matrices or performance benchmarks for each module. The following functional distinctions reflect the roles named in the release, not a detailed product specification.

Module Stated functional emphasis
Falcon Next-Gen SIEM Threat detection and centralized log management
Falcon for IT IT and asset visibility
Falcon Data Protection Data protection

What does FedRAMP Moderate authorization mean for agencies?

FedRAMP is the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, a government program for assessing and authorizing cloud services. In its January 2025 release, CrowdStrike said these three modules were available to government entities that require FedRAMP Moderate authorization. The release positions them for federal, state and local government entities and their supply chains, with capabilities intended to support compliance efforts and Zero Trust adoption.

Authorization is not a blanket statement that every Falcon product or feature is authorized, nor is it an endorsement of CrowdStrike by the government. Agencies should confirm that the specific service, configuration and authorization scope meet their own requirements before procurement or deployment.

Is Falcon available in GovCloud?

Yes. CrowdStrike’s announcement says the three named modules are available through the Falcon Platform in GovCloud for entities requiring FedRAMP Moderate authorization. That statement applies to the modules covered by the release; it should not be read as confirmation that every Falcon capability is included in the same authorization scope.

How does the current FedRAMP Marketplace record relate to the announcement?

The FedRAMP Marketplace listing for CrowdStrike Falcon Platform IL5 SaaS is a separate, platform-level registry record. As of September 25, 2026, it lists the package as FedRAMP Certified, in Ongoing Certification, with a Rev5 Agency path, Class D (High) profile and one authorization. Those details belong to that marketplace package and should not be attributed to the January 2025 announcement’s three modules, which CrowdStrike described as available at FedRAMP Moderate.

What capabilities did CrowdStrike say the modules support?

CrowdStrike said the modules offer real-time threat detection, asset visibility, centralized log management and data protection to help government environments with compliance efforts and Zero Trust frameworks. The company framed the broader goal as helping agencies secure assets against sophisticated endpoint, identity and cloud-based attacks while improving operational efficiency. Those are the company’s stated aims, not independent efficacy or performance findings.

In the release, CrowdStrike president Michael Sentonas highlighted visibility across managed and unmanaged devices and referenced federal logging mandates in OMB M-21-31 and the adoption of Zero Trust frameworks. The announcement did not provide independent adoption, customer-count or efficacy statistics.
