Microsens NMP Web+ versions through 3.2.5 are identified as affected by three vulnerabilities: forged-token authentication bypass, JWT sessions that do not expire, and path traversal that could permit file overwrites and arbitrary code execution. MICROSENS recommends updating to NMP Web+ 3.3.0 for Windows or Linux. Until patched, restrict access to the management interface to trusted administration networks.

What is Microsens NMP Web+?

NMP Web+ is software for controlling, monitoring, and configuring industrial switches and other MICROSENS network equipment. Because it provides a management interface for network devices, flaws in the software can put the equipment’s management plane at risk—not just the computer running the interface. SecurityWeek described the product this way on July 1, 2025.

The risk depends on whether an attacker can reach an affected installation and exploit it. The vulnerabilities are serious, but their disclosure alone does not establish that a particular organization was compromised.

What are the three NMP Web+ vulnerabilities?

The CVE records describe three distinct weaknesses. The two authentication-related flaws concern JSON Web Tokens (JWTs), which can be used to authenticate or maintain a session. The third is a path-traversal flaw involving file access.

CVE What the record describes Severity information
CVE-2025-49151 An unauthenticated attacker could generate forged JWTs to bypass authentication, according to MITRE’s CVE record. GCVE Vulnerability-Lookup records a CVSS 4.0 base score of 9.3.
CVE-2025-49152 JWT session tokens do not expire, potentially allowing unauthorized access to persist longer than intended. The CVE record information supplied here does not state a CVSS score.
CVE-2025-49153 Path traversal could allow an unauthenticated attacker to overwrite files and execute arbitrary code, according to the vulnerability record. GCVE Vulnerability-Lookup records a CVSS 4.0 base score of 9.3.

CISA’s advisory, as reported by SecurityWeek in 2025, described the group as comprising two critical vulnerabilities and one high-severity vulnerability. The 9.3 CVSS 4.0 scores above are those recorded for CVE-2025-49151 and CVE-2025-49153; they are not a measure of confirmed incidents or a guarantee that exploitation will succeed in every environment.

Can attackers bypass NMP Web+ authentication?

Yes. CVE-2025-49151 is specifically an authentication-bypass weakness: MITRE says an unauthenticated attacker could create forged JWTs that the interface accepts. That is different from stealing a legitimate user’s password; the described flaw concerns whether the software accepts a fabricated token.

CVE-2025-49152 creates a separate session risk. If a JWT remains valid because it does not expire, access obtained through a valid or unauthorized session may persist longer than administrators expect. The available record does not specify a duration, so there is no defensible number of hours or days to attach to that risk.

CVE-2025-49153 has a different potential consequence. Crafted path input may escape the intended directory; the vulnerability record says the affected products could allow an unauthenticated attacker to overwrite files and execute arbitrary code. Together, these issues could turn an exposed management interface into a route toward control-plane compromise.

Which NMP Web+ versions should be patched?

The vulnerability records identify versions through 3.2.5 as affected and reproduce MICROSENS’s recommendation to update to NMP Web+ 3.3.0. The recommendation covers both Windows and Linux. Treat version 3.2.5 and earlier as affected unless MICROSENS provides a later, product-specific clarification.

The records identify 3.3.0 as the recommended version; they do not provide a later fixed-version number. Obtain the installer through MICROSENS’s support or download channel and confirm the package and operating-system edition for each installation.

How to reduce risk and remediate

  1. Inventory installations. Find every NMP Web+ installation, and record its host, operating system, and installed version. Include systems managed by another team or located at remote and industrial sites.
  2. Identify affected systems. Flag each installation running version 3.2.5 or earlier for remediation, based on the vulnerability records.
  3. Limit access while preparing the update. Restrict the management interface to trusted administration networks and remove unnecessary Internet exposure. Keep the restriction in place while arranging maintenance for systems that cannot be updated immediately.
  4. Install the recommended update. Obtain NMP Web+ 3.3.0 for Windows or Linux from MICROSENS’s support or download channel. Follow the vendor’s installation guidance and the organization’s change controls, especially where downtime could affect industrial operations.
  5. Verify the result. Confirm the installed version on each host after the update and record any system that remains on an affected release, along with its compensating access controls and remediation plan.
  6. Review for suspicious activity. Check authentication, web, and system logs for unexpected token use, file writes, process launches, or administrator activity. The records do not define a specific indicator-of-compromise list, so investigate anomalies in the context of each system.
  7. Respond to suspected access. If unauthorized activity is suspected, rotate relevant credentials and investigate the affected host and connected network. Use established incident-response procedures rather than treating the software update alone as proof that an intrusion has been resolved.
  8. Maintain ongoing oversight. Include NMP Web+ and connected industrial equipment in OT vulnerability management and network monitoring, with a process for reviewing exposure, patch availability, and systems that cannot be patched promptly.

Is there evidence of confirmed victims?

No verified public statistic is established here for the number of organizations exploited or confirmed victims. The vulnerability records and the 2025 reporting establish the flaws and recommended update, but they do not quantify real-world exploitation. That uncertainty is not a reason to leave an affected management interface exposed: prioritize patching and access restrictions according to each installation’s reachability and operational importance.
