The CORSAIR K65 PLUS WIRELESS is a compact 75% mechanical keyboard with Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and USB connectivity, plus hot-swappable linear switches. It is a strong fit if you want a smaller layout and quieter-feeling, dampened typing; its stock key legends do not shine through, and games that respond to key release may expose a latency weakness.
Is the Corsair K65 Plus Wireless worth buying?
It can be a good choice for a compact gaming and work setup if you prefer linear switches, want to move between connection types, and value a hot-swap design. The 75% layout retains a useful set of navigation keys while taking up less desk space than a full-size keyboard.
There are meaningful trade-offs: the case is plastic, the stock keycap legends do not shine through, and the included linear switches will not suit everyone. Matt Safford’s February 28, 2024 Tom’s Hardware review praised the keyboard’s layout, switches, dampening, and control dial, while qualifying its value assessment by preference for linear switches and CORSAIR’s keycaps. His quoted $159 launch-era price is not a current price check. Read the Tom’s Hardware review.

How does it feel to type and play on?
Linear switches and hot-swap flexibility
The included CORSAIR MLX Red switches are linear: they move without a tactile bump. CORSAIR specifies 45 g actuation force, a 1.9 mm actuation point, and 4.0 mm total travel. If you want a tactile or otherwise different feel, the keyboard is hot-swappable, allowing compatible switches to be changed. Check the replacement switch’s compatibility before buying; CORSAIR identifies MX-cross stems on its product page.
Dampening, construction, and lighting
Reviews highlight the sound-dampening construction as a plus, but the plastic shell and stock keycaps keep the materials from feeling fully premium. The printed legends on the stock keycaps do not shine through, so RGB lighting does not illuminate the letters themselves. That matters if you often type in a dark room and rely on lit legends rather than backlighting alone. Tom’s Hardware also praised the control dial; consult its review for its assessment of the keyboard’s layout and overall typing experience.

Is the K65 Plus Wireless good for gaming?
RTINGS reports a 1000 Hz polling rate and superb single-key latency when connected by USB or 2.4 GHz. Its testing also found high multi-key release latency. That distinction matters in games that react when you let go of a key, including some rhythm games: strong key-press performance does not guarantee equally responsive key-release behavior. RTINGS describes its broader single-key and multi-key press performance positively, but the release-latency result is a specific caveat rather than a reason to assume every game will feel slow. See RTINGS’ review and test details.
How long does the K65 Plus Wireless battery last?
CORSAIR advertises up to 266 hours on 2.4 GHz with RGB lighting off. Treat that as a best-case manufacturer figure for the stated condition, not an expectation with lighting enabled. Actual runtime depends on settings and use; no typical runtime with RGB on is established here.

What should you know about software and modifications?
PCWorld discusses controls for the wireless timeout and a PlayStation Mode toggle. RTINGS’ review changelog says it corrected an earlier statement about onboard memory on February 5, 2026; use the corrected review rather than relying on older claims about what settings the keyboard retains without software. PCWorld also reports that the warranty does not cover user modifications. Hot-swap support does not mean every modification is warranty-safe, so check the applicable warranty terms before changing hardware. Read PCWorld’s review.
