The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus are Intel desktop processors with different core counts, but the available HotHardware page for this review installment is specifically about memory, system and browser benchmarks. Its benchmark chart values are not available here, so a score-by-score winner cannot be stated reliably. The comparison below keeps those limits clear and separates review evidence from Intel’s own gaming claims.

What this review page covers

HotHardware labels page 2 of its review “Memory, System, And Browser Benchmarks.” It is a distinct installment from the review’s sections on AI, 3D rendering and AV encoding, and on graphics, gaming and power. Those categories should not be treated as interchangeable: results in a memory, system or browser test do not establish how either processor performs in a game.

The chart measurements for this page are not available in the extracted page text. That means there is no sound basis here to report HotHardware scores, percentage leads, or which chip wins a particular workload. Consult the visible charts on the original review page for those results rather than inferring them from core counts or gaming claims.

How the processors differ

Processor Core configuration German launch price reported by ComputerBase in March 2026
Core Ultra 7 270K Plus 24 cores: 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores €319.90
Core Ultra 5 250K Plus 18 cores: 6 performance cores and 12 efficiency cores €219.90

ComputerBase reports that each Plus chip adds four E-cores over the preceding 265K and 245K model in its respective tier. The German prices are dated launch figures, not a statement of current retail pricing or a guarantee of availability in other regions.

What the available gaming evidence says—and does not say

Intel’s published figures are manufacturer claims tied to particular games, settings and comparison processors; they are not HotHardware benchmark results. Intel reports up to 9% higher performance for the 270K Plus than the 265K in Star Wars: Outlaws at 1080p High, and up to 24% for the 250K Plus over the 245K in Far Cry 6. These are separate comparisons, so they do not establish a direct gaming-performance gap between the 270K Plus and 250K Plus.

In its own 2026 review context, Tom’s Hardware reported that the 250K Plus delivered 95% of the 270K Plus’s gaming performance at one-third lower price. That finding belongs to Tom’s Hardware’s test setup; it should not be substituted for HotHardware’s scores or generalized to every game, resolution or system.

What to check before choosing one

  • Match the workload to the evidence. For memory, general system or browser use, compare the corresponding HotHardware charts directly. For gaming, use results from the same reviewer, game, resolution and settings when comparing the two CPUs.
  • Compare the complete platform cost. The processor is only part of a build. Include a compatible LGA1851 motherboard and memory in the budget, and verify board compatibility and BIOS support for the specific processor before buying.
  • Consider upgrade runway. ComputerBase characterizes LGA1851 as having no further CPUs after the Plus series. That reported platform limit matters to buyers who expect to upgrade the processor later without replacing the motherboard.
  • Treat launch pricing as historical context. The German March 2026 figures above do not establish what either processor costs now or in another market.
