It is an integration with Stripe that lets shoppers pay inside the same onsite AI agent where they discover products. Shoppers no longer have to leave the conversation for a separate checkout page. Constructor names Stripe Checkout and Pay with Link as the payment options, and it says the feature is available globally. Everything below comes from Constructor’s own launch materials, not from independent testing or deployment audits.
What Agentic Checkout does
Constructor says a shopper can discover products, ask questions, get personalized recommendations, refine their choices and complete checkout without leaving the onsite agent. The company presents this as a way to shorten the handoff between product discovery and payment, which is where it says shoppers drop off.

Constructor has not published comparative performance data for the two agents.
The company says it plans to expand Agentic Checkout to more touchpoints across retailer digital properties later in 2026. That is a roadmap statement, and the expansion has not been announced as complete.

Payment options: Stripe Checkout and Pay with Link
Constructor names two Stripe payment routes: Stripe Checkout and Pay with Link. The announcement does not compare them. It says nothing about differences in shopper experience, retailer eligibility, fees or configuration. To decide between them, read Stripe’s current documentation and check your own implementation requirements.

- Add your Stripe credentials to the configuration.
Constructor says retailers can turn on the Stripe-powered checkout without replacing the payment setup they use elsewhere on their site. These are the vendor’s stated steps. The announcement does not cover account-specific eligibility, so retailers should confirm requirements with Constructor and Stripe. It also frames setup only for existing agent customers, so it does not say whether other retailers can enable the feature.
The abandonment numbers behind the pitch
Constructor cites two figures and attributes both to the Baymard Institute:

The announcement does not name the Baymard report or its year, so treat these as general context for the problem, not as current benchmarks. The announcement also reports no conversion lift or measured drop in abandonment from Agentic Checkout. The benefits it describes are intended, not demonstrated.

Constructor’s press release says: “This new functionality is available globally, with Constructor the first to offer Stripe-powered checkout directly within an onsite shopping agent.” The announcement is credited to the Constructor Team, not a named executive. Both the global availability and the “first” claim are company statements, and no independent market comparison backs them.

What to ask before adopting it
- Are you already a Constructor agent customer, and are your agents on the AI Shopping Agent or Product Insights Agent surfaces?
- Does your Stripe account and region support Stripe Checkout, Pay with Link, or both?
- How will orders, taxes, shipping and returns flow between the agent checkout and your existing commerce platform?
- Which additional touchpoints Constructor plans to add later in 2026 matter to you, and when will they ship?
