You do not need a paid service or annual plan to loop a YouTube video: YouTube has built-in repeat controls for videos and playlists. If you need to repeat only part of a video, a third-party looper may offer useful controls. YouTube Premium is optional and its trial is conditional; check the offer and renewal terms shown to your account before signing up.

Choose the kind of repeat you need

  • Repeat a whole video or playlist: start with YouTube’s own controls. There is no separate looper subscription to manage.
  • Repeat a passage: look for a tool with start and end markers, often called A-B looping. This is useful for practicing a language or musical passage, or reviewing a particular section of a tutorial.
  • Get Premium benefits as well: consider YouTube Premium only if its broader membership benefits matter to you. Looping itself does not require Premium.

YouTube’s built-in repeat YouTube Help describes repeat controls for an individual video and a playlist on supported computer, mobile, TV, and console interfaces. See YouTube’s current instructions. Repeating a whole video or playlist without a separate tool. The cited instructions cover video and playlist repeat, not repeating a selected A-B passage.
LoopTube.co The site describes its service as free and says no account is required. Visit LoopTube.co. A simple web-based full-video loop. The service’s homepage provides limited detail about advanced segment controls; its claims are not independent test results.
LoopTube.io The site describes full-video and A-B looping, speed controls, keyboard shortcuts, and local storage for loop settings. Visit LoopTube.io. Repeating a specific passage or adjusting playback speed. These are provider-described features; availability and behavior have not been independently tested here.
TubeRepeat The service says it is free, requires no account, has no premium tier, and plays videos through YouTube’s embedded player rather than downloading them. Visit TubeRepeat and read its FAQ. A no-account web workflow; its FAQ also describes touch-oriented controls. TubeRepeat says a video whose uploader has disabled embedding may only play on YouTube.com.
Listen On Repeat extension The Chrome Web Store listing describes an extension that opens a video on ListenOnRepeat for looping. The listing showed version 3.0 and an update date of November 11, 2024. View the Chrome Web Store listing. Opening a video for looping from a browser toolbar. How to loop a video or playlist in YouTube

YouTube’s controls can move as its interface changes, so use the current help page if the labels or menus differ on your device.

On a computer or mobile device

  1. Open the video in YouTube and start playback.
  2. Open the player’s context menu and choose the loop or repeat option. On a computer, this is typically available by right-clicking the video; on mobile, use the player’s available menu controls.
  3. For a playlist, open the playlist and use its repeat control. Check whether the control is set to repeat the playlist or, if available, the current item.

On a TV or console

  1. Start playback in the YouTube app.
  2. Open playback settings and select the Repeat control, following the steps for your device in YouTube Help.

When a third-party looper makes sense

A separate site is most useful when you want something beyond whole-video repeat, particularly a selected passage or speed adjustment. Before using one, compare the actual controls it describes with what you need: A-B markers, speed settings, keyboard or touch controls, and whether it can remember a loop. Do not assume these features are available on every looper.

Some videos cannot be played in third-party embedded players. TubeRepeat says that if an uploader has disabled embedding, playback may only work on YouTube.com; return to YouTube in that case. For a simple full-video or playlist repeat, YouTube’s own control remains the direct option.

What “free trial” and “no annual contract” mean here

A free tool and a free trial are different offers. The loop sites above describe free use; that does not mean they provide a time-limited trial of a paid plan. YouTube Premium is the relevant trial-based paid option in this comparison, but the offer is account-specific rather than guaranteed.

  • YouTube says trial eligibility depends on factors including prior membership history and trial frequency. It asks for a payment method at signup, and trial length may vary.
  • At the end of an eligible trial, Premium renews at the then-current monthly price unless you cancel before the trial ends.
  • YouTube’s paid-service terms describe recurring plans as charging each billing period until canceled. Promotions can vary by country, platform, duration, and eligibility.
  • The cited terms do not establish an annual commitment for the Premium trial described by YouTube Help. Still, check the billing period and cancellation terms on the specific checkout screen; do not assume every account sees the same trial or plan.

Read YouTube’s trial eligibility and signup guidance and its paid-service terms before enrolling. The offer displayed to your signed-in account is the one to verify.

A separate use case: keeping a YouTube live stream running

Looping a video while watching is different from broadcasting uploaded videos as a continuous YouTube live stream. StreamNeo is for the latter, not a playback looper: it runs uploaded videos or playlists from the cloud so your computer does not have to stay on. Learn about StreamNeo or start its first-day-free trial. This is relevant only if your goal is an always-on live channel, not simply repeating a video for yourself.

Quick checks before you choose

  • Is whole-video or playlist repeat enough, or do you need A-B passage looping?
  • Would speed controls or saved loop settings help?
  • Does the video play in an embedded player, or has embedding been disabled?
  • Is the service always free, or is it a paid membership with a trial that renews?
  • If you choose a trial, what billing period, renewal date, and cancellation method does your checkout screen show?

Do free YouTube loopers offer a free trial?

The loopers described here present free use, not a time-limited trial of a paid plan. A free tool is not the same as a trial subscription.

Can I repeat only one part of a YouTube video?

Some third-party tools describe A-B looping. YouTube’s cited repeat instructions cover a whole video or playlist, not a selected passage.
