Comcast announced four national Xfinity Internet plans on June 26, 2025, and said each included unlimited data and an Xfinity WiFi Gateway. The monthly prices ranged from $40 to $130 depending on speed and pricing option. But the announcement did not automatically move existing customers to a new plan, and its price table does not confirm what is available at a particular address today.
What Comcast announced
Comcast’s June 26, 2025 announcement introduced four Xfinity Internet download-speed tiers: 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gbps, and 2 Gbps. The company said all four included unlimited data and an Xfinity WiFi Gateway, and that a line of Xfinity Mobile was included for one year. These are features Comcast announced at the time, not confirmation of terms for every current account.
The announcement described the guaranteed prices as available without contracts. Comcast COO Steve Croney framed the strategy as emphasizing a five-year price lock and everyday pricing. His claims about simplicity, transparency, reliability, and security were Comcast’s promotional statements, not independent assessments. Read Comcast’s June 26, 2025 announcement.
How the announced prices compared
The following monthly prices are the figures Comcast published in June 2025. The table does not establish a current quote, taxes or fees, or eligibility for any particular address.

Did existing customers get unlimited data automatically?
No automatic account-wide change was established. Ars Technica reported that existing Comcast customers on capped plans would have to switch to a new plan to get unlimited data. Check your account before assuming your current data terms changed or that a new plan preserves your existing terms. Ars Technica’s June 27, 2025 report covered the announcement and the existing-customer context.

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
Why did Comcast announce the plans after customer losses?
Ars Technica reported that Comcast lost 183,000 residential broadband customers in the first quarter of 2025. The new plans were announced afterward, amid competitive pressure and company efforts to address customer losses. The timing supports that sequence; it does not independently prove the losses caused the plan change.
Ars also reported remarks by Comcast President Mike Cavanagh, who said executives had identified price transparency and ease of doing business as issues. Those comments help explain the company’s stated focus, but do not establish that customers experienced the new plans as simpler or more transparent.

What to check before switching or signing up
The 2025 table is a historical reference, not a live offer for October 2026. Check your account and address-specific checkout details before making a decision. Compare the full terms, not only the advertised monthly figure:
- Whether the speed tier and price option are available at your address.
- The guarantee’s duration and the price that applies after it ends, or whether an everyday price is being offered.
- Taxes, fees, equipment charges, and any other amounts excluded from the monthly price.
- Whether unlimited data, the gateway, and the one-year Xfinity Mobile line are included in the offer presented to you.
- Contract, cancellation, and plan-change terms, including how switching affects your current account.
- Download and upload speeds, data or overage terms, and local availability when comparing another provider.
Because Comcast said the package included an Xfinity WiFi Gateway, the announcement alone is not a reason to buy a separate modem or router. Whether additional equipment makes sense depends on your setup and the terms of the offer you receive.
