If it is, adjust the capture settings—especially viewport and fullpage. If the original is complete but the delivered image is cropped, change Cloudinary’s image transformation, such as using c_fit or c_pad instead of c_fill. Capture dimensions and transformed output dimensions are separate controls.
Find out where the screenshot is being cropped
- Inspect the original generated screenshot before applying a resize or crop transformation, if available.
- If content is missing in that original, fix URL2PNG capture settings.
- If the original includes the full page but the image you deliver does not, inspect the Cloudinary transformation URL or SDK options.
Cloudinary’s documented workflow generates the website screenshot first and then allows transformations to be applied to it. The particular cause cannot be confirmed without your source image, requested dimensions, URL, and settings.

Fix clipping in the URL2PNG capture
Set the browser viewport
Set viewport to the browser dimensions you intend to capture. The viewport determines the browser-sized area used for the screenshot; content outside a viewport-only capture is not included in the generated image.

Choose viewport or full-page capture
Use URL2PNG’s fullpage option to choose between capturing the viewport and capturing the full page. If you need the whole page, enable full-page capture and select a suitable viewport width. A full-page screenshot can be very tall, and a later fixed-ratio crop can still remove content.
Cloudinary’s URL2PNG documentation shows viewport and fullpage as capture options. It also shows a user_agent option for mobile rendering. Confirm the exact syntax in the current documentation when updating an existing integration.

Fix cropping in the delivered image
When the source screenshot is complete, select the transformation mode based on whether the target box must be filled or the entire screenshot must remain visible.

For example, Cloudinary’s legacy URL2PNG example uses c_fill,g_north,h_300,w_500 to create a 500 × 300 output that favors the top of the screenshot. North gravity can help retain a site header when cropping is intentional, but it does not preserve the entire image. Treat that older example as illustrative and check the current URL2PNG documentation for syntax and requirements.

Cloudinary also documents automatic crop behavior: auto selects a crop based on gravity and dimensions. auto_pad attempts to avoid a poor crop by adding padding when more of the original should remain; it requires automatic gravity (g_auto) and is not supported for animated images. Choose settings by the result you need

Check URL2PNG account and delivery requirements
Cloudinary’s current URL2PNG documentation says you need a Cloudinary account and must register for the add-on. URL2PNG delivery URLs must, by default, be signed or eagerly generated; account settings can allow unsigned add-on transformations. After the screenshot has been generated using a signed URL or the authenticated API, further transformations of that image can use regular unsigned Cloudinary delivery URLs. Check your account’s security settings and the add-on’s availability before relying on a URL pattern.

Troubleshoot common dimension problems
- The bottom of the page is missing in the original: Check whether full-page capture is enabled. If you wanted only the viewport, increase or correct the
viewportdimensions. - The source is complete, but the delivered image cuts off the header or footer: Check for
c_fillor another crop transformation. Usec_fitorc_padto retain the whole image, or adjust gravity if a crop is intended. - The image has the right dimensions but not the desired visible area: A fixed-width-and-height fill can crop while preserving the target box. Choose the crop position with gravity, or switch to fit/pad if all content matters.
- A full-page screenshot is too tall for its destination: Keep the full-page source and use a fit or pad transformation when preserving every section is more important than filling a fixed aspect ratio.
- An add-on URL does not deliver as expected: Confirm add-on registration, signing or eager generation requirements, and the account’s unsigned-transformation setting in the current URL2PNG documentation.
