Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIn the US, Claude Pro costs $20 per month, while Google’s Gemini subscriptions range from $4.99 per month for AI Plus to $199.99 per month for the highest-usage AI Ultra option. Both services have free access, but their paid plans bundle different usage limits and extras: Claude emphasizes more access to Claude and Claude Code, while Google bundles Gemini with cloud storage and benefits across Google products. The right comparison depends on how much you use the assistant, which features you need, and whether Google storage is valuable to you.

What Claude’s free and paid plans change
Claude Free and Pro
Claude Free is for limited, occasional use. Pro raises the amount of use available in a session and adds priority access, early features, and access to Claude Code. Anthropic does not describe Pro as unlimited: how much you can send depends on factors such as message and attached-file length, conversation length, and the model or feature used. The session limit resets every five hours.
#1 Best Overall
Claude Pro is a chat subscription, not an API bundle. Anthropic states that “The Pro plan does not include API usage through the Claude Console.” Developers using the Console need to budget for API charges separately. See Anthropic’s Pro plan page.
Claude Max
Max is for individual users who need substantially more capacity than Pro. Anthropic describes Max 5x as five times Pro capacity for $100 per month and Max 20x as twenty times Pro capacity for $200 per month. These are provider-stated capacity comparisons, not guarantees of a fixed number of messages; the amount of use still depends on the work and features involved.
Rank #2
Claude Team
Team is designed for organizations rather than someone simply seeking a personal upgrade. It adds centralized billing and administration, identity and access controls, spend controls, workplace connectors, and higher usage capacity. Standard and Premium seats have different usage rules and allowances, and a company can mix seat types. Anthropic’s Team page explains the current seat options and qualifications at What is the Team plan?
What Google AI subscriptions add
Google AI Plus and Pro
Google’s subscription ladder starts with AI Plus at $4.99 per month and continues with AI Pro at $19.99 per month in the US. Google describes Plus as providing 2x higher usage access than Free and Pro as providing 4x higher usage access than Free. These multipliers describe plan access, not unlimited use or a guaranteed count of prompts. The eligible models, features, and limits can vary and change.
Rank #3
Google frames these subscriptions as a combination of Gemini access, storage, and benefits across Google products. AI Plus includes 400 GB of cloud storage on the current US plan page; Pro includes expanded AI access, app integrations, storage, and other benefits. Google describes the offer as “More storage and Google AI in one subscription.” Review the Google One AI plan comparison for the current feature breakdown.
Google AI Ultra
Ultra has two US monthly options in the current subscription listing: $99.99 for 5x Pro usage and $199.99 for 20x Pro usage. The higher tiers also include advanced features, but Google says storage and benefits differ across tiers. Check the live plan comparison for the exact combination available to your account rather than assuming every Ultra benefit is identical.

Which plan makes sense for you?
Choose based on how you use AI
- Start with free access if your use is occasional and the available limits meet your needs.
- Consider Claude Pro if you want more per-session Claude use, priority access, early features, or Claude Code access.
- Consider Google AI Plus or Pro if Google’s Gemini features and the storage or Google app benefits are useful to you, not just the chatbot access.
- Look at Max or Ultra if you regularly hit individual-plan limits and the provider’s higher usage tier is worth the added monthly cost for your work.
- Compare Claude Team instead of individual plans if your organization needs centralized billing, administration, access controls, or workplace connectors.
Separate AI access from bundle value
Google’s storage should be weighed as a separate part of the bundle. If you already pay for cloud storage, it may make a subscription more useful; if you do not need it, the storage does not make Gemini itself more capable. Claude Pro’s headline value is its expanded Claude access and included Claude Code access, while its API usage remains separately billed.
Check regional terms before subscribing
The listed prices are for the US. Anthropic says local currency, taxes, and availability vary by region. Google also qualifies features and eligibility by region, age, language, account, and other terms. Outside the US, use the upgrade screen in your own Google or Claude account to verify the local price and included features. Google’s regional eligibility information is available on its Google AI plans FAQ.
Best Value
Bottom line on Claude vs. Gemini pricing
Claude Pro and Google AI Pro are close in US monthly price—$20 and $19.99—but they are not like-for-like bundles. Compare the limits and features you will actually use: Claude’s per-session access and Claude Code, Google’s Gemini tiers and storage/app benefits, or the team controls and seat options needed by an organization. Neither a usage multiplier nor a higher tier should be read as unlimited access.
