The program announced at the summit, Cisco 360, is now live; its current incentives and tools developed after the event, so they should not be mistaken for announcements made in 2024.
What Cisco executives said at Partner Summit 2024
The summit ran October 28–30, 2024, in Los Angeles under the theme “Forward as One.” Cisco’s pre-event guide listed Chuck Robbins, Gary Steele, Rodney Clark, Jeetu Patel, Liz Centoni and Scott Herren among the global keynote speakers. The five executives below illustrate the partner, finance, product and go-to-market arguments that shaped Cisco’s message.
| Executive | Role at the time | Central message |
|---|---|---|
| Chuck Robbins | Chair and CEO | Update the partner model and align partner and Cisco field-seller priorities and incentives. |
| Scott Herren | Executive vice president and CFO | Present the redesign as investment and change, not cost-cutting. |
| Jeetu Patel | Executive vice president and chief product officer | Make Cisco meaningfully better through product design and technology for the AI era. |
| Rodney Clark | Senior vice president, Partnerships and Small & Medium Business | Simplify the partner experience and make Cisco easier to do business with. |
| Gary Steele | President, go-to-market | Focus on execution: whether Cisco’s sellers and partners pursue the same customer outcomes. |
Chuck Robbins: align Cisco and partner priorities
Robbins framed Cisco 360 as an update to a partner model that needed to evolve with the market. The practical issue was alignment: Cisco’s field sellers and partners should be working toward the same priorities, with compensation that reinforces those priorities rather than pulling each side in a different direction.
Scott Herren: make clear the change was not a budget retreat
Herren, Cisco’s CFO, pushed back on interpreting the redesign as a cost-cutting measure: “This is not about cost savings. This is not about reducing investment.” His point gave the transformation an investment frame, particularly relevant to the training and enablement Cisco later attached to the program.

Jeetu Patel: build a better Cisco for the AI era
Patel tied partner success to Cisco’s own product and technology evolution. He said, “I think next year, we should be a meaningfully different company for the better.” That was a forward-looking statement at the 2024 summit, not a report that the transformation had already been completed.
Rodney Clark: reduce friction in doing business with Cisco
Clark brought the channel-leadership perspective: make the partner experience simpler, align incentives and remove unnecessary friction in working with Cisco. Those aims matter because a partner program is not just a set of rewards; its processes also determine how easily partners can find resources, build skills and bring solutions to customers.
Gary Steele: turn alignment into field execution
Steele’s go-to-market role put the focus on execution between Cisco’s sales organization and its partners. The test implicit in that perspective is whether both sides pursue the customer’s desired result together, rather than treating a partner transaction and a Cisco sales target as separate ends.
What Cisco 360 was designed to change
Cisco described Cisco 360 as its most significant partner-program evolution in nearly three decades. Its 2024 design connected partner success to customer outcomes in modernizing infrastructure, powering AI workloads, and improving security, resilience and performance. That represented a shift away from measuring success mainly by transactions toward value delivered across the customer lifecycle.

At the summit, Cisco announced an $80 million investment in partner training and a 15-month transition period. Cisco said the program would launch in 2026. These were Cisco’s 2024 commitments and timetable; they are distinct from the tools, designations and incentive details Cisco announced or clarified later.
Cisco’s broader partner-first framing was explicit: “As a partner-first company, partners remain essential to our success and integral to our go-to-market strategy.” That is the rationale behind the executive messages: Cisco depends on partners to reach customers, so the company’s internal priorities, partner economics and technical enablement need to work together.

How Cisco 360 affects partners now
Cisco’s January 26, 2026 newsroom release said Cisco 360 was live after 15 months of co-design with partners. Cisco said it is intended for varied partner models, including developers, consultants, managed-service providers and resellers. Tim Coogan, Cisco’s senior vice president of Global Partner Sales, said: “With our partners, we’ve strengthened what is already a world-class ecosystem to deliver even greater value.”
The live program’s mechanics include the Cisco Partner Incentive, Portfolio and Preferred Partner designations, Partner Value Indexes, a Partner Locator, a distributor development fund and an enhanced AI Assistant in the Partner Experience Platform. Cisco says customers can use the locator to search for partners across Security, Networking, Collaboration, Services, Splunk, and Cloud and AI Infrastructure. These mechanisms turn the summit’s broad themes—partner value, differentiation and customer discovery—into program components, but they were not all part of the 2024 summit announcement.
Later enablement and specialization changes
In a November 2025 update, Cisco described cross-sell and next-generation-specialization bonuses, Secure AI Infrastructure and Secure Networking specializations for Preferred Partners, Partner Learning Journeys, demo environments and expanded AI skills through Cisco U. These later additions show how the program developed after its initial announcement.
Cisco’s January 2026 release said some bonuses were temporary through July 2026. Because that end date has passed, partners should verify current eligibility and terms in Cisco’s program materials rather than assume those bonuses remain available.

CRN characterized Cisco in 2024 as doing “upwards of 90 percent” of its business through the channel. That is CRN’s description at the time, not a current Cisco-wide operating metric. It helps explain why a partner-program redesign was strategically important, but should not be read as a precise, current share of Cisco revenue or sales.
Cisco’s Collaboration Partner team reported that in FY26, 47,931 individuals were reached through 713 events touching 9,513 companies. These figures describe that team’s event reach; they do not establish the total reach of Cisco 360 or prove a particular business outcome.
Best Value
The collaboration team also reported more than 140 partner meetings in 2024. Separately, Cisco’s awards material listed regional and theater winners across security, networking, collaboration, managed services, transformation, sustainability and other categories. Together, those details reflect a partner ecosystem spanning many disciplines and geographies; they are not a single measure of program performance.
Why the summit still matters
The 2024 summit is useful context for understanding why Cisco 360 was built, not a current guide to every partner benefit. Robbins and Clark emphasized alignment and reduced friction; Herren stressed investment; Patel connected success to better products and AI-era technology; and Steele’s go-to-market lens brought those themes back to field execution. Cisco’s 2026 launch and subsequent updates show how those ideas were translated into incentives, designations, training and customer-discovery tools over time.
