CVE-2019-6268 is a path traversal vulnerability in RAD Data Communications’ SecFlow-2 industrial switch. INCIBE-CERT reports that every SecFlow-2 version is affected, there is no fix because the product is end of support, and the manufacturer recommends replacing it with SecFlow-1p. CISA found a public proof of concept (PoC); that does not establish that the flaw is being exploited in live attacks.
What is CVE-2019-6268?
INCIBE-CERT’s June 19, 2024 alert describes CVE-2019-6268 as a path traversal flaw in RAD Data Communications’ SecFlow-2. A URI beginning with /.. can navigate outside its intended directory. The alert gives reading /etc/shadow as an example of a file that could be reached.
INCIBE-CERT identifies hardware 0202, firmware 4.1.01.63, and U-Boot 2010.12 as the configuration used in the demonstrated technical details. It also says all SecFlow-2 versions are affected, so those identifiers should not be treated as the only vulnerable configuration.
Is my RAD SecFlow-2 affected?
According to INCIBE-CERT, all versions of the SecFlow-2 are affected. Organizations should inventory deployed units rather than rely on matching a device to the specific hardware and software configuration cited in the technical example.

What does the public PoC mean?
SecurityWeek reported on June 19, 2024, that CISA found a publicly available PoC for the path traversal and notified RAD. The report says technical details and a PoC appeared publicly in early March 2024. A PoC demonstrates or helps reproduce a vulnerability; its availability alone is not evidence that attackers have used the flaw in live attacks. The available reporting does not establish such exploitation.
Is there a patch, and what should operators do?
INCIBE-CERT says SecFlow-2 is end of support and no fix is available. It reports that the manufacturer recommends upgrading to SecFlow-1p. This is therefore an asset-lifecycle and replacement decision, not a routine patch deployment.

- Identify exposure: Check asset inventories and OT network records for SecFlow-2 units. Confirm device identity and deployment details with the responsible engineering or operations team.
- Plan replacement: Coordinate with RAD or a qualified OT integrator to assess SecFlow-1p suitability for the deployed environment, including compatibility, operational continuity, and the replacement’s security-update path.
- Manage migration safely: Schedule and validate any change through the organization’s OT change-control process. The cited alert does not provide a patch or a detailed migration procedure.
Do not treat an unverified replacement part or another SecFlow-2 unit as remediation. A replacement needs to be confirmed as supported and suitable for the system in which it will operate.
