What Chrome’s work and personal separation does
Google announced the feature on July 21, 2025, for people who use one iPhone or iPad for both work and personal browsing. When you sign in to or switch to a managed work account, Chrome keeps organization-related browsing in that managed-account experience. Google says local data and content—including tabs, history, and passwords—stay within it. Google’s announcement describes the separation for managed accounts on devices used for both work and personal activity.

Google Chrome Help describes the purpose as separating browsing related to an organization from personal browsing. You can use a personal Google Account for personal browsing while work-account data stays within the work account. Chrome Help
Which accounts get a separate profile
The distinction is account type. Chrome 136 Enterprise and Education release notes say iOS support creates separate browser profiles for each managed work or school account. Regular Google Accounts continue to share a single profile. Chrome Enterprise release notes

So, this is managed work/personal separation, not desktop-style profile management for every personal account. If you have multiple managed accounts, each gets its own profile; adding another ordinary personal account does not create another independent iOS profile.
Set up and switch between accounts

Open Chrome on your iPhone or iPad.

Tap the account control in the upper-right corner. If it is not visible, open a New Tab first.

Tap Add account… and sign in with your work or school account.

When Chrome prompts you the first time you sign in with a managed account, follow the steps to set up the separate work space.

To switch browsing spaces, tap the account control and choose the account you want to use.
The first managed-account setup is a one-time onboarding flow. Chrome’s account control on the New Tab page is also the stated route for switching between accounts. Google Chrome Help and Chrome Enterprise release notes

Remove an account from the device

In Chrome, open the account control.

Choose More → Manage accounts on this device.

Select the account and tap Remove from this device.
These steps remove the account from the device; Google’s help page lists them as the account-removal path in Chrome on iOS. Google Chrome Help

What administrators can control
Chrome browser management must be enabled for supported organization policies to apply on iOS. Those policies apply while the user is signed in with the managed account. When the user signs out, policy enforcement stops and the local profile on the device is deleted. Chrome Enterprise policy documentation

Google says the initial switch to a managed account shows onboarding information about the separation and how the organization handles data. The exact migration experience therefore depends in part on the organization’s configuration. Google’s announcement and Chrome Enterprise policy documentation
