Chrome already has a consumer-facing “What’s New in Chrome” page, but it is a feature-discovery guide, not a version-by-version changelog. Google publishes Chrome’s versioned release notes separately on Chrome for Developers. The official pages reviewed do not announce a new in-browser page that brings those release notes together like ChromeOS’s update information.
What Chrome’s existing “What’s New” page does
Google’s What’s New in Chrome page explains selected browser features and how to use them. Examples currently shown include adding tabs, images, or files as context for AI Mode searches, opening two pages in split view, and signing in to sync data across devices. The page notes that feature availability can vary by region.
That makes it useful for discovering consumer-facing features, but it is not organized as a dated list of changes for each Chrome version.
Where Chrome’s versioned release notes are published
Chrome for Developers publishes release notes by version. For example, Google’s Chrome 154 release-notes page gives September 22, 2026 as the stable release date and says the changes generally apply to Android, ChromeOS, Linux, macOS, and Windows. It also links to “New in Chrome 154” for highlights.

How Chrome and ChromeOS update information differs
“Chrome” can refer to the browser or to ChromeOS, the operating system used on Chromebooks. Google maintains different update information for each, with different readers and release schedules.

| Information | Audience and detail | Publication location and timing |

| Chrome consumer features | Browser users; feature descriptions and instructions | What’s New in Chrome; the page presents selected features, not a version-by-version changelog |
| Chrome browser release notes | Readers looking for changes tied to a browser version | Chrome for Developers; notes are organized by version |
| ChromeOS updates | ChromeOS users and administrators | Google’s ChromeOS release updates page; updates publish one week before ChromeOS Stable |
| Chrome browser enterprise and education notes | Administrators managing browser deployments | A separate Chrome Enterprise and Education site; notes publish on the Early Stable date |
Google’s help information says ChromeOS updates continue to appear on its Help Center page, while Chrome browser enterprise and education notes moved to a separate site on March 26, 2026. The two products should not be treated as having the same update page or cadence.
What the 2026 release schedule means
Starting in September 2026, Chrome stable and beta releases move from a four-week to a two-week cycle for desktop, Android, and iOS, according to Google’s March 3, 2026 release-cycle announcement. Extended Stable remains on an eight-week schedule.

ChromeOS keeps a four-week release cadence. Starting with ChromeOS 154, its release number increments by two to align with Chrome browser’s faster numbering cadence; ChromeOS Long-term Support remains on a six-month interval, according to Google’s Chrome Enterprise and Education release notes.
More frequent browser versions make versioned notes especially useful for tracking what changed and when. They do not, by themselves, establish that Google plans to add those notes to Chrome’s consumer “What’s New” page or display them inside the browser.

Is a new in-browser release-notes page confirmed?
No. The official material cited here documents the existing consumer feature page, versioned Chrome release notes, and separate ChromeOS and administrator resources. It does not announce the prospective in-browser Chrome release-notes page described in the title. For now, use the consumer page to learn about selected features and Chrome for Developers to check changes by browser version.
