China Eastern reportedly suspended a passenger from its transport services after he threatened to kick a flight attendant following a cart brushing his elbow on a September 28, 2026, flight. The airline also reported the incident to police, but the reporting does not establish a conviction, a government-imposed ban, or how long the carrier’s restriction will last.
What happened on the flight
The incident occurred on a China Eastern flight from Hefei, Anhui province, to Dalian, Liaoning province, on the night of September 28, 2026. Reports say a beverage or food cart brushed the elbow of a male passenger who was asleep during cabin service. The flight attendant apologized and checked on him, according to accounts relayed by VnExpress International and Dexerto.
A witness quoted by Seoul Economic Daily said the cart was moving slowly and that an ice pack was applied. Those details are the witness’s account, not an independently established finding. The English Seoul Economic Daily page notes that it is AI-translated from Korean and cautions that translated quotations may not reflect the exact original wording.
How the disagreement escalated
According to the airline’s account as reported by the outlets, the passenger rejected the apology, shouted or used aggressive language, asked to kick the attendant, and demanded that she accompany him to a hospital after the plane landed. A senior flight attendant and onboard security intervened.

These details are reported from the airline’s statements; the reviewed coverage does not include a directly retrieved airline statement.
What China Eastern did—and what “ban” means here
China Eastern reportedly suspended transport services for the passenger and reported the matter to police over suspected disruption aboard the aircraft. The carrier also reportedly provided support to the flight attendant. The headline description “ban” refers to the airline’s reported restriction under its own rules: available reporting does not specify its duration or establish that a court or government imposed a ban.
