There is no separate CapCut Pro for PC installer. On Windows 11, you download the regular CapCut Desktop app, sign in, and activate Pro through your CapCut account if you have a subscription—or purchase one from the app’s upgrade screen.
The safest route is to download CapCut from its official Windows page or install it through Microsoft Store. This guide covers both methods, the actual Windows requirements, Pro activation, updates, and the fixes for common installation problems.
What you actually download
CapCut Pro is a subscription tier, not a different Windows application. The Windows download is CapCut Desktop. Pro tools become available after you sign in with the account that has an active Pro subscription.
CapCut says Pro can include advanced editing tools, premium effects and templates, AI features or credits depending on the plan, expanded cloud storage, watermark-free export, and 4K/60fps export. Feature availability can vary by plan and region.

Be cautious with pages advertising a “CapCut Pro PC crack,” modified installer, or separate Pro EXE. They are not the official installation route and can expose your Windows account, files, or payment details to malware.
Windows 11 requirements
CapCut’s current Windows guidance supports Windows 10 or later, so Windows 11 is supported. The official pages do not publish one perfectly consistent hardware table. Use the first row below as the published minimum and the second as a more practical target for editing.

The 2 GB figure is only enough for the application according to one CapCut requirements page. Video projects and temporary render files need additional room, which is why CapCut’s separate desktop guidance recommends 10 GB free. If your system has only a few gigabytes remaining, clear space before starting the installation.
Method 1: Download CapCut from the official website
- Open CapCut’s official CapCut for Windows page.
- Click Download for Windows.
- Save the installer. CapCut identifies the file as
CapCut_Setup.exe; its approximate size is 200 MB, although the size can change with new releases. - Open File Explorer and select Downloads.
- Double-click
CapCut_Setup.exe. - Follow the installer prompts. Depending on the release, you may be asked to accept the terms, choose an installation folder, or create a desktop shortcut.
- When setup finishes, open CapCut from the desktop shortcut or from the Windows Start menu.
Windows may display a security prompt before running the installer. Check that you obtained the file from CapCut’s official website before allowing it to run. If the setup program reports an error, download a fresh copy rather than repeatedly launching the same possibly corrupted file.

- Open Microsoft Store from the Windows Start menu.
- Search for CapCut or CapCut Video Editor.
- Select the CapCut app in the results.
- Click Install.
- Launch CapCut from the Start menu when the installation completes.
The website installer is usually the simpler fallback if Microsoft Store does not start the download. Conversely, Store installation can be convenient when Windows manages app updates normally on your PC.

Sign in after installation
Start CapCut Desktop and sign in when prompted. CapCut supports sign-in with Google, TikTok, or Facebook. Use the same account connected to your Pro subscription; signing in with a different account is one of the most common reasons Pro tools appear locked.
Pro access is account-based. A subscription purchased on a supported platform can provide benefits on Web, Desktop, and Mobile when those services are accessed with the same CapCut account. However, CapCut’s current membership guidance says Standard benefits are primarily for mobile use. Access to membership features on a Windows PC requires CapCut Pro, so do not assume that a Standard mobile subscription unlocks PC premium features.
How to activate or buy CapCut Pro on Windows 11
If you already subscribe
- Open CapCut Desktop.
- Sign in to the account that owns the subscription.
- Wait briefly for the account status to load.
- Open a project and test a Pro feature or check the account area.
If the app still shows a free account, sign out and sign back in, check the account email or login method, and confirm that the subscription is active on CapCut’s website.

If you need to purchase Pro
- Open CapCut Desktop and sign in.
- Click Account in the top-right corner.
- Select Upgrade to Pro.
- In the upgrade dialog, choose Join CapCut Pro.
- CapCut opens your default browser and takes you to the CapCut Web subscription page.
- Choose a plan and complete payment in the browser.
- Return to CapCut Desktop and allow about 10–30 seconds for the Pro status to refresh.
The Windows application does not process this payment directly. Do not expect a checkout window inside the desktop editor.
Prices are not a single worldwide amount. CapCut says the displayed price depends on factors such as region, device, and promotions. Check the price shown for your account and location rather than relying on an old article or a fixed advertised figure.

How to tell when a feature requires Pro
CapCut normally identifies locked features in the editor. Applying a Pro-only resource can produce the message “This content requires CapCut Pro. [Upgrade]”.
During export, 4K or Remove Watermark may be unavailable, gray, or marked with a lock icon. The related prompt is reported as “CapCut Pro is required for this setting. Join now to unlock.” These messages mean the account currently active in the desktop app does not have the required entitlement—or that the selected feature is restricted by the plan.
Check your CapCut version
- Open CapCut.
- Click Settings.
- Find Version.
CapCut’s current help material does not establish one universal “latest version” number for Windows Desktop. Read the number shown in your installation instead of trusting a third-party page that claims to offer the newest build.
Update CapCut Desktop safely
- Open CapCut Desktop.
- Click Settings in the top-right.
- Open Version.
- Click Check for updates, then follow the on-screen instructions.
There may also be an upward-arrow control in the top-right labeled You’re up to date. Selecting it lets CapCut check for an available update.
Keep CapCut open and maintain a stable internet connection while updating. Do not uninstall the application as an update workaround: CapCut warns that removing it can cause locally saved projects to be lost. Back up important project media and files before making major changes.

Fix CapCut download and installation problems

Official download versus third-party sites
Use the official CapCut website or Microsoft Store. A third-party download page may host an old build, bundle unwanted software, or incorrectly label the standard desktop installer as “Pro.” Since Pro is enabled by an account subscription, a special “Pro download” does not provide a legitimate shortcut around the subscription.

Why is 4K export locked in CapCut?
CapCut identifies 4K export as a Pro capability. If the account in the desktop app is not entitled to Pro—or the plan does not include that feature—the 4K option can be gray or display a lock.
