Yes, in the United States, but only some games. You can watch locally available NFL broadcasts over the air without a monthly subscription, and the NFL lists an online option for your local FOX game if you sign in with TV-provider credentials. NFL Channel is free but does not stream live games. No single free service is established as a way to watch every matchup.
Which NFL games can you watch free without a subscription?
Your best no-subscription option is a local broadcast station carrying that game. The NFL lists over-the-air broadcasts as a way to watch network games, and FOX Sports says an antenna can receive local FOX, CBS, NBC, and ABC broadcasts at no monthly charge where those stations are available. Reception and channel availability depend on your location.
Check which stations you can receive at your address before buying an antenna. An antenna receives available local broadcasts; it does not unlock out-of-market games or matchups that are exclusive to a streaming service. Can you stream your local NFL game online for free?
For a local FOX game, the NFL points viewers to FOX Sports. The online route is free after you sign in with TV-provider credentials, so it is authorized but not credential-free. It does not establish free access to games carried by other networks or to out-of-market matchups. Check the NFL’s partner viewing guidance for the applicable option.

What does the free NFL Channel show?
NFL Channel is a free, always-on source of NFL programming, including shows, replays, and live game-day coverage. The NFL says it is available through the NFL app on connected TVs and through partner platforms including Amazon, Peacock, PlayStation 5, Plex, Pluto TV, Roku, Samsung TV Plus, TCL, Tubi, Vizio, and Xumo. Platform availability may vary.
It is not a live-game feed: the NFL Channel FAQ states, “There are no live NFL games on NFL Channel.” Use it for NFL programming and updates, not to watch a live matchup. Details are on the NFL’s NFL Channel page.

Does NFL+ let you watch live games for free?
No. NFL+ is a paid subscription, not a free streaming route. For the 2026 season, the NFL lists the base plan at $6.99 monthly or $49.99 annually, with live local and primetime regular-season and postseason games on mobile devices. NFL+ Premium is listed at $14.99 monthly or $99.99 annually; it adds NFL RedZone and full or condensed game replays across devices. Those are season-specific prices and features, not a guarantee for later seasons. Check the NFL’s 2026 fall programming announcement for the stated terms.
The NFL’s viewing guide also lists services such as NFL Sunday Ticket, FOX One, Peacock, Paramount+, ESPN, Amazon Prime Video, and Netflix. Rights are divided among broadcasters and services, so subscribing to one does not necessarily provide every game. Use the NFL’s location-personalized schedule and viewing guide to identify the authorized option for a particular matchup.

How to find a legal way to watch a specific game
- Check the NFL schedule for your location. Look up the matchup in the NFL’s ways-to-watch guide to see its listed broadcaster or streaming service.
- For a local broadcast, check station reception. Confirm that the relevant station is available over the air where you live; an antenna may be needed.
- For a local FOX game online, use FOX Sports with TV-provider credentials. The NFL identifies this as the online route for that local game.
- For other games, use the listed broadcaster or service. NFL Channel offers free programming, but not live games.
Does this apply outside the United States?
No. The options described here are for viewers in the United States. NFL broadcast rights and free-to-air availability vary by country, so check the NFL’s viewing information for your location rather than assuming a U.S. method will work abroad.
