You can’t install Verizon’s Fios TV Mobile app directly on a Samsung Smart TV according to Verizon’s published support information: Smart TVs are listed as unsupported. To watch Fios TV on the television, use the separate Fios TV Home app on a compatible external streaming device connected to the TV, provided your Fios service and equipment meet Verizon’s requirements.
Why the Fios app may not appear in Samsung’s app store
Verizon lists Smart TVs among the devices that do not support the Fios TV Mobile app. If you can’t find that app in Samsung’s app store, that is consistent with Verizon’s published device information; it does not establish the availability of every app on every Samsung TV model or in every region. Verizon describes Fios TV Home as a way to access Fios TV service using a streaming device connected to a TV. Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is on Verizon’s supported-device list. - First, confirm that your Fios TV service and equipment meet the eligibility requirements below.
- Connect a supported streaming device to an HDMI port on the Samsung TV.
- Use the Samsung remote to select the HDMI input connected to that device.
- Open or install Fios TV Home on the streaming device and follow its on-screen setup and sign-in instructions.
Check Fios TV Home eligibility before buying a device
A compatible streaming device alone does not guarantee access. Verizon says Fios TV Home requires an eligible TV and Home Internet package, at least one installed Verizon Media Server, a Fios TV+ or Fios TV One set-top box, and a Fios router. Verizon warns that a non-Verizon router may prevent access to all channels and the ability to manage and stream DVR recordings through Fios TV Home. If you use a third-party router, confirm how that affects the features you need before relying on the app.

Understand device authorization rules
For packages that allow one or two customer-owned streaming devices, each device must be authorized. Verizon says an individual device may be authorized up to twice per calendar month. Packages that allow unlimited devices do not require individual device authorization. Check the terms for your specific package, since the applicable rule depends on the service.
