Yes, sometimes. You can watch official F1 highlights without a live subscription, and some options provide full race replays later. What’s available—and whether it’s free—depends on your country and the service. Short highlights, delayed full replays, and live coverage are separate entitlements.
Start with your country and what you want to watch
F1 viewing rights vary by territory. First decide whether you want a short recap, a complete race replay, or live coverage; then check which route is available where you live. A service that offers a delayed replay in one country may not offer the same content elsewhere.

- Highlights: short official videos that recap a race. F1 publishes highlights on its official YouTube channel; its official 2025 season video compiled highlights from every Grand Prix. That does not mean YouTube carries a complete replay of each current race.
- Full replay: the entire race session, which may be delayed and may require a subscription.
- Live coverage: the event as it happens. The options below do not establish a universal way to watch current races live for free.
Ways to watch without a live subscription
Official F1 highlights on YouTube
If a concise recap is enough, check F1’s official YouTube channel after the race. F1 has published official race highlights, including a 2025 season compilation. This is the clearest free highlights route in the cited information, but it is not a substitute for a complete race replay.
F1 TV Access
F1 describes its non-live F1 TV Access plan as including delayed race replays, archive content, and live timing. The plan and replay availability depend on your territory, so check the localized F1 TV subscription page for the event you want and when its replay becomes available. Access is paid where offered; it is not a promise of immediate replays or live race video.

Formula 1 Channel in the United States
In the US, F1 says its free, ad-supported Formula 1 Channel carries full replays, detailed highlights, and analysis from the previous race weekend five days after each Grand Prix. It is therefore a delayed option, not a way to watch the race live or immediately afterward. Check the official announcement for supported distribution services and current availability.
Apple TV in the United States for 2026
For the US arrangement described for 2026, Formula 1 says Apple TV subscribers can catch up with full replays, highlights, and Race in 30. This requires an Apple TV subscription, so it is not a free route. The offer described is specific to the United States; it should not be assumed to apply in other countries.

Check local broadcasters for other options
F1’s country-by-country broadcaster listing is a starting point for finding local coverage. It identifies broadcasters, but does not by itself confirm whether a provider offers free replays, a replay catalog, or a particular delay. Check the provider’s terms for those details.

| Route | What it can provide | Cost and timing | Key limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Official F1 YouTube | Race highlights | Free; timing varies | Highlights are not full race replays. |
| F1 TV Access | Delayed replays and archive content | Paid plan; replay timing varies | Availability depends on country and event. |
| Formula 1 Channel (US) | Previous weekend’s full replays, detailed highlights, and analysis | Free with ads; five days after each Grand Prix | US-specific and delayed. |
| Apple TV (US, 2026) | Full replays, highlights, and Race in 30 | Requires an Apple TV subscription | US arrangement described for 2026; not free. |
| Other local broadcaster | Depends on provider | Not stated by F1’s listing | Check the provider’s replay catalog, price, and delay. |
Before subscribing, verify five things: your country’s eligibility, whether the option is free or paid, whether it includes a full replay or only highlights, how long after the race the content appears, and whether it works on your device. F1’s subscription terms describe territory-specific rights, so a VPN should not be treated as a reliable workaround.
