Not through a non-OSC method documented in the current release notes. Climbey’s October 2, 2026 update adds eye-openness support via OSC, and SteamVR’s beta 2.18.2 notes describe exposing eye-openness data from Steam Frame while streaming via OSC. Neither note explains a way to use the feature without OSC.
What the current Climbey update supports
Climbey’s October 2, 2026 update note says: “Add support for Eye-Openness via OSC.” It does not provide setup instructions, identify a non-OSC option, or specify a Climbey menu setting for the feature.
SteamVR beta 2.18.2, announced October 1, 2026, says it will “Expose eye openness information when streaming from Steam Frame, via OSC.” That note specifies SteamOS 0.4.3 or higher for this exposure. Read together, the notes describe an OSC-based route involving Steam Frame streaming; they do not establish that every eye-tracking headset or streaming configuration is supported.
What you can do with the documented route
If you want to try the route the notes describe, the stated pieces are Steam Frame streaming with SteamVR’s OSC eye-openness exposure, SteamOS 0.4.3 or higher, and Climbey updated to include the October 2 support. The announcements do not say whether you must opt into a SteamVR beta channel, enable a setting, configure OSC manually, or change an in-game option. Is a non-OSC option planned?
SteamVR says eye openness will also be available through the OpenVR SDK “in an upcoming release,” but the October 1 announcement gives no release date. That is a future-facing statement, not a currently documented alternative. The cited Climbey note does not say whether or when the game will support eye openness through OpenVR SDK rather than OSC.
How the older Climbey eye-tracking note fits
A December 24, 2025 Climbey announcement described initial eye-tracking support for hardware providing SteamVR Link OSC-powered eye-tracking passthrough. It also said multiplayer support at that time worked only when Climbey was streamed via Steam Link. That historical note concerns earlier eye-tracking support; it does not supply setup steps or establish the requirements for the October 2026 eye-openness update.
