The Nintendo Account that bought a Switch 2 Upgrade Pack keeps the purchase. You can let another profile use it on a console where its virtual game card is loaded, or lend an eligible card to someone in your Nintendo Account family group. Nintendo does not allow digital purchases to be transferred to another account.
Choose the sharing method that fits your setup

Let another profile play on the same console
Load the upgrade pack’s virtual game card on the console the other person will use. Nintendo says other users on that console can play games or DLC available through a loaded virtual game card. This shares access on the console; it does not move the purchase to the other person’s Nintendo Account. See Nintendo’s Virtual Game Card Guide.
Use the upgrade pack on another console
Nintendo permits virtual game cards on up to two Switch 2 or Switch consoles associated with the purchasing Nintendo Account. The card must be loaded on the console where you want to use it. Nintendo says compatible Switch and Switch 2 systems support the virtual game card feature; compatibility depends on the game or DLC. Details are in Nintendo’s Virtual Game Card Guide and its Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility information.
Lend an eligible virtual game card to a family member
For someone using their own console, Nintendo’s lending feature can provide temporary access without changing who owns the purchase. The borrower must be in the lender’s Nintendo Account family group, and the two consoles must be nearby and online when lending is set up. Some games may not support family lending, so check the title’s eligibility.

- A borrower may borrow one game at a time.
- A loan lasts up to 14 days, unless it is returned sooner.
- The lender cannot use a card while it is lent.

Fix error 2819-0032 when play is suspended
Nintendo says error 2819-0032 generally means the Nintendo Account was used to play a Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack on another console. The message explains that play is being suspended because the virtual game card is in use on another system and that the online license and virtual game card cannot be used at the same time. - Close the software using the account on the other console, then try again.
- Alternatively, load the upgrade pack as a virtual game card on the console where you want to play.
If you start the software without the upgrade pack, its extra features and content remain unavailable until you start it normally with the pack accessible.

GameShare is a separate feature for supported games, not a way to transfer or lend an Upgrade Pack virtual game card. Nintendo says a Switch 2 can share compatible games with Switch 2 or Switch consoles, while a Switch console can only receive a locally shared game from a Switch 2. Check Nintendo’s Switch 2 feature and compatibility information for the distinction.
