No supported way is documented. A controller sends input to a device that runs a game; it does not run a console game on its own. Sony’s published compatibility information covers the DualSense wireless controller with PS5, PC, Mac, and mobile devices, but does not establish PS6-game support. The name “DualSense 2.0” and its alleged PS6 compatibility are also unverified by the official sources cited here.
Why a controller cannot replace a PS6
A DualSense controller is an input device, not a game system. To play a console game, the game must run on a compatible console or another supported host. Connecting a controller to a phone or computer does not make that device run a PS6 game.
Remote Play does not change that distinction: PlayStation Direct describes it as streaming games from a PS4 or PS5 console to a supported device. The console remains the host running the game. PlayStation Direct’s DualSense listing identifies the supported connection and Remote Play context.
What Sony documents about DualSense compatibility
Sony describes the DualSense wireless controller as a controller for PS5. Its listed compatible devices include PS5, PC, Mac, and mobile devices; PS6 is not listed on the DualSense product page. PlayStation Direct likewise lists PS5, PC, Mac, and mobile devices, without establishing PS6 support.

- Haptic feedback - Feel physically responsive feedback to your in-game actions with dual actuators which replace traditional rumble motors. In your hands, these dynamic vibrations can simulate the feeling of everything from environments to the recoil of different weapons. .Operating temperature : 41 °F to 95 °F (5 °C to 35 °C)
- Adaptive triggers - Experience varying levels of force and tension as you interact with your in-game gear and environments. From pulling back an increasingly tight bowstring to hitting the brakes on a speeding car, feel physically connected to your on-screen actions.
- Built-in microphone and headset jack - Chat with friends online using the built-in microphone or by connecting a headset to the 3.5mm jack. Easily switch voice capture on and off at a moment’s notice with the dedicated mute button. Internet and account for PlayStation Network required.
- DualSense Controller PS5 and PC compatible. Not compatible with PS4.
- PS Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, PS4 or PS5 console with the latest system software and compatible game. A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
Sony’s compatibility statement that “PS5 games can only be played with DualSense wireless controllers” applies specifically to PS5 games. It does not promise that a DualSense will work with PS6 games. See Sony’s PS5 game compatibility support page.
Is “DualSense 2.0” an official controller?
The official Sony sources cited here do not substantiate a product officially named “DualSense 2.0,” nor do they provide PS6 controller or game compatibility details. That means the name and compatibility claim should be treated as unverified—not as confirmed products or features. A search that does not find an announcement cannot establish that no future announcement will happen.

What to check if Sony announces PS6 compatibility
When Sony publishes official PS6 information, check the compatibility documentation for three separate things:
- Controller support: Does Sony explicitly list the controller for the PS6 console or PS6 games?
- Game support: Does the game run on the stated console or device, rather than merely accept controller input?
- Connection mode: Is play local on the console, or streamed from a supported host such as a PS4 or PS5?
Until Sony documents those details, do not buy or rely on a DualSense—or a product described as “DualSense 2.0”—on the assumption that it can play PS6 games without a PS6.
