Yes. Google said in its November 20, 2025 Chromebook announcement that GeForce NOW Fast Pass lets Chromebook users stream more than 2,000 PC games. That was the Chromebook offer’s figure at the time—not a permanent limit or a current count of every game in GeForce NOW. NVIDIA’s current FAQ lists more than 4,500 games across its Ready-to-Play and Install-to-Play libraries.
What the game counts mean
The counts describe different snapshots and catalog groupings:

These are service-library totals, not a promise that every title is available to every user at every moment. Publishers choose whether to make games available, and the current GeForce NOW games list determines what can be streamed.
Do you need to buy games again?
No, if you already own a supported game in a connected store. Google says Fast Pass connects existing Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox and other libraries, so you do not need to buy a second Chromebook copy. You still need access to the game through a supported store or account.

Ready-to-Play and Install-to-Play
- Ready-to-Play: NVIDIA maintains these games for streaming, so they are available to launch without installing them yourself.
- Install-to-Play: These are Steam games that premium members can install on cloud storage before streaming. Availability is subject to the game’s current listing and publisher participation.
How to start GeForce NOW on a Chromebook
- Use the app: Install GeForce NOW from Google Play. If the Play Store’s Open button says streaming is unsupported, launch the app from the Chromebook app drawer instead, as NVIDIA directs.
- Or use Chrome: Open play.geforcenow.com in Chrome 77.x or later on Chrome OS.
- Connect your game library: Sign in to the supported store account where you own the game, then choose a listed title and start streaming.
NVIDIA documents both the app and browser routes in its GeForce NOW system requirements.
Internet requirements and Chromebook streaming quality
NVIDIA’s current Chromebook targets are:

NVIDIA recommends less than 80 ms latency to a GeForce NOW data center. It also recommends wired Ethernet or a router using 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Actual results depend on network conditions, the Chromebook display and the GeForce NOW membership tier.

Which membership tier affects Chromebook play?

Google’s 2025 announcement described Fast Pass as ad-free and queue-skipping, with 10 hours of play per month and up to five unused hours rolling over. Those are details of that announced offer, not a general statement of current limits for every GeForce NOW tier or region.

Mouse and controller support
NVIDIA recommends a USB gaming mouse for Chromebook and browser play. Its supported Chromebook gamepads include Microsoft Xbox controllers and Sony PS5 DualSense and DualShock 4 controllers. Other gamepads may require driver or firmware updates. NVIDIA’s system requirements page lists supported input guidance.

What to check if a game will not launch
- Confirm the title appears in NVIDIA’s current GeForce NOW games list; a game in a store library is not automatically streamable.
- Check that you signed into the store account that owns or provides access to the title.
- If the Android app’s Open button says streaming is unsupported, open the app from the Chromebook app drawer.
- For unstable play, compare your connection against NVIDIA’s Chromebook speed targets and latency recommendation; use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi where practical.
- If you expect 1600p or 120 FPS, verify that your membership tier is Ultimate and that the Chromebook display and connection can support the target.
