Yes. NADRA lists home delivery as an option for identity documents, and its current fee page lists PKR 165 for ID-card delivery within Pakistan. PakID supports CNIC applications and tracking, but delivery does not mean every step can be completed online: first-time applicants must visit a NADRA centre with a blood relative, and some other cases may require in-person biometric verification or a photograph. Check NADRA’s live fee page and the options shown for your application in PakID before paying.

What PakID can do for a CNIC application

NADRA describes PakID as its official mobile application for identity registration and tracking. Its CNIC service page outlines a workflow in which applicants sign in or create an account, select a service, enter personal details, upload the required documents, complete any required centre visit, and track the application in the app. The app overview also describes document capture and upload, live photo capture, electronic signatures, and smartphone-camera fingerprint verification. These features do not guarantee that every applicant can complete every verification step remotely.

NADRA lists CNIC routes for new applications, renewals, modifications, and reprints of lost cards. Its PakID FAQ specifically identifies renewals, modifications, lost-card reprints, and updates to non-printable fields as supported CNIC services. Check the route and instructions displayed in PakID for your case.

Can you apply for a first-time CNIC online?

You can initiate a first-time CNIC application through a blood relative’s PakID account, but NADRA says the applicant and that relative must then visit a NADRA centre to complete the remaining steps. A first-time application is therefore not an entirely online process.

Who is eligible

NADRA says a CNIC is issued to Pakistani citizens aged 18 or older who have not previously been registered, or who hold a Child Registration Certificate or Juvenile Card. The documents and verification required depend on the applicant’s record and circumstances.

Documents and verification for a new application

NADRA’s CNIC service page lists these requirements for a new application:

  • An identity-card number for a parent or blood relative. In specified cases where the system has no blood relative, NADRA lists a biometric witness who holds an ID and an undertaking marked “B.”
  • A verified computerized birth certificate from a union council, municipal committee, or cantonment, or a citizenship or naturalization certificate.
  • Biometric verification by a parent or blood relative, or the specified attestation of the CNIC application form.

Use the documents and instructions NADRA provides for your particular application; the listed requirements may not cover every individual record.

When a centre visit may still be needed

In addition to the required visit for first-time applicants and their blood relative, NADRA warns that biometric verification or a photograph may require an applicant to visit a registration centre. The app’s support for camera-based fingerprint verification and live photos does not establish that an in-person visit can always be avoided. Follow any centre-visit instruction shown for your application.

Home delivery, centre pickup, and address selection

NADRA’s Services Charter lists two ways to receive identity documents: pickup from a centre or home delivery. The charter also describes SMS or email notifications at stages including application-form uploading, card dispatch, and card receiving.

The exact address-selection flow can depend on the application type. NADRA’s 2025 Smart ID reprint guide shows applicants choosing a temporary or permanent address, entering another address, or selecting a NADRA centre for collection. Those screen choices are documented for that reprint flow; they should not be assumed to appear identically for every CNIC service. Check the choices displayed in PakID before submitting.

Current new-CNIC fees and processing times

NADRA’s fee page, checked in 2026, lists the following options for a new CNIC. It says the processing timeline starts after fee payment; these are processing periods, not guaranteed total times to doorstep delivery.

Processing option New-CNIC fee Listed processing time
Normal PKR 0 15 days
Urgent PKR 1,150 12 days
Executive PKR 2,150 6 days

The same fee page lists PKR 165 for delivery of ID cards within Pakistan; delivery abroad varies by country. NADRA also notes that PakID fees are charged in PKR after applicable currency conversion. Fees and timings can change, so confirm the amount and estimate on NADRA’s current fee page before paying. A Smart ID reprint guide illustrates a separate PKR 750 application fee plus PKR 165 delivery, or PKR 915 total; that reprint example is not the new-CNIC fee.

Payment methods for PakID

NADRA lists credit card, debit card, and Raast as payment methods. Its payment instructions restrict eSahulat, Easypaisa, and JazzCash to Smart NIC and FRC applications, so CNIC applicants should not assume those channels are available for their service.

For Raast, NADRA instructs applicants to sign in to PakID, open the inbox, choose “Pay Now” beside the tracking ID, generate a Raast QR code, and complete payment using that code. The QR code remains valid for 30 minutes.

How to proceed

  1. Open NADRA’s official PakID app and sign in or create an account.
  2. Select the CNIC service that matches your case: new application, renewal, modification, or reprint, as available.
  3. Enter the requested details and upload the required documents. For a first-time CNIC, initiate through a blood relative’s account and plan for both of you to attend a NADRA centre.
  4. Complete any biometric, photograph, or other in-person step NADRA requires for your application.
  5. Review the fee, processing option, and receiving choices shown for your case. Choose home delivery if offered, or centre pickup where available.
  6. Pay using a method NADRA lists for your service, then use PakID to track the application and watch for status notifications.
