Yes. Eligible businesses can accept credit-card payments online through Wave invoices. After Wave approves online payments, send a customer an invoice; they can open it and use the secure Pay now button to pay. The documented flow is for online invoice payments—it does not establish support for taking card payments in person with a terminal or reader.
How credit-card payments work in Wave
- Apply to enable online payments and complete Wave’s approval and verification process.
- Create and send an invoice to your customer.
- The customer opens the invoice online and selects Pay now to pay using an available method.

Which payment methods are listed?
Wave lists Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Mastercard Debit, and American Express for invoice payments. Discover is listed for US customers only. Apple Pay and bank payment are also listed as invoice payment options. Availability can depend on the customer’s location and the payment options Wave enables for the business. Wave does not establish a complete current list of countries where businesses can activate card payments on the pages cited here.

Approval, verification, and possible holds
Online payments require approval. Wave says eligibility checks can include identity verification and a credit review. It may also review payments for risk and, in some cases, hold funds or ask for additional information. Approval and uninterrupted access to funds are therefore not guaranteed simply by creating a Wave account.

When will card payments reach your bank?
Wave gives a general processing estimate of 1–2 business days for card payments. Its credit-card page specifies one business day in Canada and two in the United States. These are processing estimates, not guarantees of when funds will appear in every bank account; cutoffs, third-party delays, financial institutions, and risk reviews can affect timing.
