Yes. Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat can offer a Continue in Outlook handoff after you ask it in natural language to schedule a meeting. The option takes you to your Calendar in Outlook on the web to arrange it; the notice does not say Business Chat sends the invitation automatically.
How the Business Chat meeting handoff works
- In Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat, ask in natural language to schedule a meeting with someone.
- Select Continue in Outlook when Business Chat offers the option.
- Outlook on the web opens to Calendar, where you can schedule the meeting and review the details.
This is a handoff for completing the scheduling process in Outlook, not a claim that the meeting invitation is created or sent without your review.
Where it was announced to work
Microsoft’s change notice named Business Chat on Windows and Mac desktops and Microsoft Outlook for the web. It also said that a Microsoft 365 Copilot license is required. The notice does not establish availability in other clients or contexts.

Microsoft’s January 22, 2025 notice initially announced a worldwide rollout from mid-January through late January. On January 30, the schedule was revised to an expected start in early February and completion by late February 2025. Those are historical announced dates, not confirmation that the rollout completed or that the feature is available in a particular tenant today. The archived reproduction of Message Center item MC985481 records the notice and its update; CloudScout’s change history corroborates the timeline revision.

What Microsoft 365 administrators needed to do
The notice said the option would be enabled by default and that no administrator action was required before rollout. Administrators could review their current configuration to assess organizational impact, notify users, or update relevant documentation as appropriate.
