inDrive has added grocery and ready-to-eat meal delivery through Krave Mart, starting with Karachi in January 2026. That is a concrete expansion of its app, but it does not yet prove inDrive has built a mature “super app” in Pakistan: the company’s broader vision still depends on whether customers adopt multiple services and whether delivery can work sustainably beyond its initial market.
What inDrive has added in Pakistan
On January 12, 2026, inDrive announced inDrive.Groceries, a service offering groceries and ready-to-eat meals through the inDrive app with Krave Mart. The launch was initially for Karachi and included a catalogue of more than 7,500 items, according to inDrive’s launch announcement.
At launch, inDrive said most orders would arrive within 30 minutes and advertised free delivery on orders above PKR 499. Those were company claims and promotional terms announced in January 2026, not confirmation of current delivery times or fees. Check the app for the terms available to your location and order.
The company presents groceries as a frequent everyday service that can complement rides and make one app more useful. Country Manager Awais Saeed described the launch as a step toward “a true Super App in Pakistan,” where customers can access essential services on one platform. That is inDrive’s strategic framing; a grocery option in an app alone does not establish broad adoption or a fully integrated platform.

Does inDrive own Krave Mart?
The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) authorized Suol Innovations Limited’s acquisition of a majority shareholding in KRRAVE Technologies, the operator of online grocery and essentials delivery business KRRAVE Mart in Karachi. The CCP’s March 11, 2026 release describes the acquisition as an inDrive Group transaction. This supports saying the group acquired a majority shareholding; it does not mean inDrive itself is the named acquiring legal entity or that it owns all of Krave Mart.
The CCP assessed the transaction in the defined market of business-to-consumer grocery e-commerce delivery in Karachi. In its Phase-I review, it found no horizontal or vertical overlap between the businesses and concluded that the acquisition was unlikely to create or strengthen dominance or substantially lessen competition in that market. The Commission also said the transaction had been completed before the required pre-merger approval and directed compliance for future transactions. This decision addresses the reviewed acquisition and market definition, not every possible competitive effect of inDrive’s wider platform strategy.

Where is inDrive grocery delivery available?
The January launch announcement named Karachi as the initial market. Dawn reported that expansion to Lahore and the twin cities would depend on proving sustainable growth and developing the operating model, with infrastructure, travel distances and security among the practical constraints. Those were prospective expansion conditions, not a confirmed launch schedule; the available information does not establish a complete, current city-by-city coverage map.
The CCP likewise described KRRAVE Mart as operating in Karachi. Its review is useful evidence of the business’s market at the time of the decision, but it should not be treated as confirmation of current service availability in every Karachi neighborhood.

Why the “super app” claim is still debated
Adding groceries could increase how often customers open inDrive and create opportunities to use rides, couriers and delivery services together. But the sources describing that rationale do not provide verified customer cohorts showing that grocery customers also book rides, or that using several services improves retention. The strategy’s promise is plausible; its cross-service effect is not yet established by the published figures cited here.
Operationally, a useful grocery service requires dependable local inventory, fulfillment and delivery, as well as prices customers find worthwhile. Success in Karachi would not by itself show that the same model can serve other cities, where distances, infrastructure and security conditions may differ. The available sources do not establish audited grocery margins, repeat-order rates or delivery economics.

Affordability also needs to be judged over time. Launch-period claims about delivery speed and free delivery above a threshold cannot show whether an ongoing service offers good value once promotions, delivery charges and the full order total are considered.
Competition is a separate question from convenience. The CCP found the specific acquisition unlikely to harm competition in the Karachi grocery-delivery market it reviewed. That is not a general approval of every super-app expansion, nor a finding that consumers will necessarily have more choice or lower prices as services are combined.

How to read inDrive’s growth figures
Reports about rising ride and courier activity suggest a growing business, but the figures come from different sources and describe different measures. They should not be treated as one independently audited picture of the market.

These figures can provide context for inDrive’s growth narrative, but they do not demonstrate grocery profitability, repeat use across services or a verified overall market position. Careem’s exit is part of the context for the company-reported growth figures; those figures alone do not establish the current state of all competitors’ operations.
What would show whether the strategy is working?
- Cross-service use: Whether grocery customers also use rides or couriers, and whether using more than one service changes repeat use.
- Reliable delivery: Whether inventory and fulfillment remain dependable as the service grows beyond its initial Karachi focus.
- Value for customers: The complete order cost and delivery terms over time, rather than launch promotions alone.
- Sustainable economics: Evidence of repeat orders and viable delivery costs, not just catalogue size or order growth.
- Competitive effects: Whether customers retain meaningful choices in each service category; the CCP’s decision covers a specific acquisition and market, not the platform strategy as a whole.
On the available evidence, inDrive has made a real move into grocery and meal delivery and has articulated a broader ambition. Whether that becomes a durable, integrated super app remains an open question rather than a result established by the launch or the acquisition clearance.
