Yes. Keynote lets you share a presentation link so people can work on the same deck in real time. For Apple’s standard iCloud method, the owner needs an Apple Account, iCloud Drive enabled for Keynote, and the presentation saved in iCloud Drive. The owner can choose who may open the link and whether they can edit.
What you need before sharing
- Sign in to an Apple Account and enable iCloud Drive for Keynote.
- Save the presentation in iCloud Drive; the standard collaboration flow does not apply to a deck stored only on your device.
- Use a supported device and software version. Apple’s current general collaboration requirements list macOS Tahoe 26.0 or later with Keynote 15.4 or later; iOS or iPadOS 26.0 or later with Keynote 15.4 or later; and visionOS 26.0 or later with Keynote 15.4 or later. Apple’s collaboration requirements can change, so check them if your device or app is older.
A Mac is not required for every collaborator. On a Windows PC, Keynote for iCloud works in Safari 13.1 or later, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge, according to Apple’s Keynote for iCloud introduction.
How to invite people to collaborate
- Open the presentation and select Share.
- Choose the collaboration or link-sharing option.
- Set Who can access and Permissions before sending the invitation.
- Send the link to collaborators, or copy it and share it through your preferred channel.

Choose access and editing permissions
The owner controls access to the presentation. These settings are separate: who can open it is not the same as whether they can change it.

| Only invited people | Only people invited by the owner can access the presentation, and invitees must sign in with an Apple Account. |
| Anyone with the link | Anyone who has the link can open the presentation without an Apple Account. Because the link can be forwarded, it is less restrictive. |
| Can make changes | Recipients can edit the presentation. |
| View only | Recipients can view the presentation but cannot edit it. |
The owner can also allow or prevent participants from inviting other people. For confidential work, choose invited-only access and prevent participants from inviting others. Apple warns that a shared link includes the presentation title, so consider that before sending it outside your intended group. See Apple’s sharing instructions for these controls.
What happens while people collaborate
Changes are saved in iCloud and appear for participants as they are made. Apple says up to 100 people can view and edit a shared document at the same time; that published limit applies collectively to Pages, Numbers, and Keynote documents, not just Keynote. Collaborators can continue working offline, but edits made while disconnected are not live for others. Apple says those changes upload to iCloud automatically when the person is online again.
