Yes. Buildertrend supports Daily Logs on desktop and in its mobile app. You can document jobsite progress and conditions with notes, photos or other attachments, weather details and tags, then control who can see a log. On mobile, signed-in users can also create logs without an internet connection; those entries sync when connectivity returns.
What Buildertrend Daily Logs can record
Daily Logs are intended to document jobsite activity, progress and issues. A log can include a date, title, tags, notes, attachments and weather information. Desktop users can attach files or create a Word or Excel file within Buildertrend; mobile users can add photos or videos. Logs can also connect to follow-up work, such as a To-Do, and users can add comments.
Buildertrend documents custom fields, notifications, post-publication editing, read receipts and reactions as additional Daily Logs capabilities. The available fields and options may depend on project settings and user access.
How to create a Daily Log
On desktop
- Select the job you want to document.
- Open Project Management and select Daily Logs.
- Create a log, enter its details, add any relevant tags, notes, weather information or attachments, and publish it.

In the mobile app
Choose a job, open Daily Logs, then create or edit an entry. The mobile workflow supports notes, attachments, photos or videos, weather details, tags and sharing. You can save a draft and return to it on the same device; the draft is available to the individual who started it. Buildertrend’s [Daily Logs on Mobile guide] explains the mobile workflow.
Who can see a log
Desktop sharing options include internal users, subcontractors or vendors, and clients. You can also make a log private, restricting it to the internal user who created it. Administrators can configure default sharing settings for clients or subcontractors. Check the audience before publishing, especially when a log contains internal notes or sensitive project details. How weather and defaults work
Buildertrend identifies Aeris Weather as the weather data source for Daily Logs. Weather is associated with the selected job’s ZIP or postal code and the log’s selected date. Administrators can configure whether weather information and weather notes are included by default. Project Management settings also include location stamps and preset Daily Log notes.

Yes, in the mobile app, provided you signed in before losing internet access. A log created offline remains pending and syncs automatically when the device reconnects. Buildertrend’s mobile FAQ says enabled weather information is time-stamped when the log is created and pulls after connectivity returns.
