Yes. An eight-core Ryzen CPU paired with an RTX 5060 Ti is a plausible setup for 1440p gaming, but the result depends on the specific Ryzen model, game, graphics settings, and whether you use ray tracing or frame-generation features. The 16GB graphics-card version offers more memory headroom; the 8GB version can still run some games well at 1440p, but may need lower settings in demanding titles.

What performance can you expect at 1440p?

There is no single frame-rate figure that predicts performance across games. Independent tests show how much results can vary with the title and settings:

  • GamersNexus measured an average of 57 FPS for the RTX 5060 Ti in its 1440p Black Myth: Wukong test. That was a graphics-card benchmark, not a test of the exact Ryzen-and-GPU system in this question. In its game-dependent comparisons, the card was 16–39% ahead of the RTX 3060 Ti at 1440p. GamersNexus’ RTX 5060 Ti review provides the test context.
  • PC Gamer’s Palit RTX 5060 Ti 8GB sample averaged 50 FPS, with a 43 FPS 1% low, in Black Myth: Wukong at 1440p High. In Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p RT Ultra, it averaged 33 FPS with a 25 FPS 1% low. These are results for that sample and those settings, not a universal prediction. PC Gamer’s Palit RTX 5060 Ti 8GB review reports both tests.
  • TechSpot reported a 49 FPS average for the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti across its selected set of seven ray-tracing games at 1440p. This average describes that test set, not every ray-tracing game. See TechSpot’s RTX 5060 Ti 16GB review.

These figures are not directly interchangeable: they come from different games, card samples, settings, and test sets. Driver versions and game updates can also change results over time.

Does the 8GB or 16GB RTX 5060 Ti make more sense?

Choose based on the games and settings you intend to use. The 16GB model has more video-memory headroom for demanding games and higher settings. The 8GB model is not automatically unsuitable for 1440p: PC Gamer’s 8GB sample posted playable averages in its selected tests. But memory limits can matter. TechSpot found that its 8GB card encountered difficulties in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

In other words, 8GB may be enough for some games and settings, while 16GB is the safer option if you want more room for demanding titles. NVIDIA also says its 16GB RTX 5060 Ti is significantly faster than the RTX 4060 Ti in 1440p gaming; treat that as the vendor’s statement, not an independent benchmark conclusion. NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti guide describes its comparison conditions.

How do ray tracing, upscaling, and frame generation affect the numbers?

A frame rate only means something alongside its rendering method. Native rendering, ray tracing, upscaling, and frame generation are different conditions, so a figure from one should not be presented as if it came from another.

NVIDIA’s selected 1440p figures use DLSS Super Resolution and Ray Reconstruction, and may use Multi Frame Generation on RTX 50-series cards where available. Those vendor figures describe a feature-enabled scenario, not native-rendered FPS, and should not be compared directly with independent tests using different settings.

Will an eight-core Ryzen CPU bottleneck the RTX 5060 Ti?

The core count alone cannot answer that. “Eight-core Ryzen” covers processors from different generations, and gaming performance also depends on the particular game, settings, and target frame rate. The benchmark results above do not test the exact, unspecified Ryzen-and-RTX 5060 Ti combination, so they cannot establish its CPU bottleneck or guarantee a complete-system frame rate.
