Brook’s StarRay is a wireless controller that pairs native PS5 support with an asymmetrical, Xbox-style stick layout. Brook also lists support for Steam, iOS, Android and PC, with Bluetooth or wired USB-C connections. “Xbox-style” refers to the stick arrangement; the listed platforms do not include Xbox consoles.
What makes the StarRay’s layout different?
The sticks use an asymmetrical arrangement, commonly associated with Xbox-style controllers, rather than a symmetrical layout. Brook also highlights an extended R2 custom button. These are design details, not evidence that the controller is more comfortable or performs better than another pad.

How do setup and firmware updates work?
Brook’s app provides remapping, macros, turbo, joystick response and center dead-zone adjustments, system settings and firmware updates. Some StarRay units require a one-time update on a PC before the app can be used. Brook’s support page lists firmware v1.2.0.7, dated September 2026, and says its web update tool requires a PC and Google Chrome.

If the app is unavailable on first setup, check Brook’s StarRay support instructions and update the controller from a PC before trying the app again. The stated one-time update requirement applies to some units, not necessarily every controller.

In an announcement dated October 6, 2026, Brook said the StarRay was available through its Amazon Store and official shop. The official BrookGaming store page was indexed on October 7, 2026 with a listed price of $64.99 and an “Out of stock” status. Availability can vary by time, region and marketplace, so confirm the regional listing and checkout status before ordering. Brook’s store page says orders ship from Taiwan and import duties may apply.
