As of October 7, 2026, the official Steam and US PlayStation Store listings reviewed for this article still show a 2026 release window. The date in the supplied title conflicts with those listings, so treat it as unverified unless Serafini Productions or a platform makes a newer announcement.
When does BrokenLore: ASCEND come out?
The game’s exact launch date is not established by the official listings reviewed. Steam says the PC version is planned for 2026, and the US PlayStation Store also gives the PS5 version a 2026 release window. Neither listing confirms January 7, 2027. Steam’s BrokenLore: ASCEND listing and the US PlayStation Store page are the current official references cited here.
An earlier announcement gives a different, now-past target: on November 11, 2025, Serafini Productions CEO Sebastiano Serafini announced the game on PlayStation Blog with a planned Summer 2026 window for PS5. That was an earlier schedule, not confirmation of a final date. See the PlayStation Blog announcement.
What kind of game is BrokenLore: ASCEND?
ASCEND is a first-person psychological horror game about Ren and Yui, rooftop climbers who attempt a forbidden nighttime ascent of the fictional Elysium Tower. The game describes Elysium as Japan’s tallest skyscraper; that is part of its fictional setting, not a statement about a real building. The pair document their climb on an online channel called SKYLIMIT, while a supernatural Rokurokubi stalks them. The story links their pursuit of fame with anxiety about being forgotten or becoming irrelevant.
