The reviewer needed a newer kernel for the AMD XDNA NPU driver, however, and the review does not establish universal compatibility or complete system certification.
What configuration does this introduction cover?
LinuxLinks identifies its review machine as a BOSGAME M6 built around AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and integrated Radeon 890M graphics. The unit had 32GB of RAM and a 1TB NVMe drive. The reviewer describes a metal body with a sloped side, a plastic base, and dimensions of 154 × 152 × 50 mm. The box contents listed in the review were an HDMI cable, power adapter, and instruction manual. LinuxLinks’ introduction to the series was published in 2025 and updated in 2026.
AMD’s processor specification lists 12 CPU cores, 24 threads, boost clocks up to 5.1GHz, 24MB of L3 cache, and Radeon 890M graphics. AMD also lists Ubuntu x86 64-bit and RHEL x86 64-bit among the operating systems supported at the processor level. That is not BOSGAME system certification, nor does it guarantee that every port, firmware feature, or Linux distribution will work identically on the M6. AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 specifications
How did Linux installation and basic devices work?
The review unit arrived with Windows 11 Pro and Secure Boot enabled. The reviewer disabled Secure Boot in BIOS, set the USB installer as the first boot device, and installed Manjaro. They report that installation went smoothly and that Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and displays worked with the default kernel. In the distributions they tested, wired and wireless networking also worked without additional drivers. These are observations from one machine and the software available to the reviewer, not a guarantee for other hardware revisions or current firmware.

The reviewer reports Intel Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual 2.5Gb Ethernet on the tested unit. Their account of those specifications and the internal components is in LinuxLinks’ hardware overview.
What Linux-specific limitations did the reviewer find?
NPU driver availability depended on the kernel
On Manjaro’s default kernel, the reviewer did not see the AMD XDNA NPU driver. After upgrading to a newer kernel, the amdxdna driver became visible. This describes the reviewer’s setup at the time; it does not identify a single kernel version that will work for every distribution or firmware release. AMD’s listing of Ubuntu and RHEL support applies to the processor, not to certification of this complete BOSGAME system.

Integrated graphics used part of system memory
The reviewer says slightly more than 4GB of the unit’s 32GB RAM was allocated to integrated graphics and that the tested BIOS offered no setting to change that allocation. They found this limited running large language models on the GPU. Treat this as a finding about the reviewed configuration and firmware, not a universal M6 setting.
Can you upgrade memory and storage?
LinuxLinks reports two DDR5 SODIMM slots, populated with 2 × 16GB DDR5 modules running at 5600 MT/s. The tested unit’s 1TB drive was a Kingston PCIe 4.0 ×4 M.2 2280 SSD.

There is an unresolved difference in published storage descriptions: the reviewer discusses a possible three-NVMe capacity, while BOSGAME’s listing for the 32GB/1TB configuration describes dual M.2 slots. Do not rely on a maximum drive count without checking the specific hardware revision and current authoritative documentation. The reviewer’s component details appear in the hardware overview; BOSGAME’s configuration and feature claims are on its product listing.

What will the rest of the review series examine?
The introduction sets up a Linux-focused series rather than a complete head-to-head buying comparison. LinuxLinks says later coverage will address benchmarks, power consumption, BIOS, and noise; a linked series question asks, “How quiet is this mini PC?” The series index and introduction are available at LinuxLinks. Until those comparisons are available, this introduction does not establish a performance, efficiency, or acoustics ranking against other machines.
