The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 are strongest if you want adjustable noise cancellation, clear voice pickup for calls, and touch controls. Their main compromises are Bose’s rated maximum of 20 hours of playback, a design that does not fold, and a consumer model Bose lists as sold from 2019 through 2024. That makes the condition and terms of any available pair part of the buying decision.
Pros of the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700
Adjustable noise cancellation and transparency
Bose lists 11 noise-cancellation levels, letting you adjust how much outside sound you hear rather than relying on a single setting. In an April 20, 2025 review, Tom’s Guide’s Alex Bracetti praised the headphones’ cancellation and transparency mode. That is his assessment, not a universal result or a quantified noise-reduction rating. Bose’s product FAQ provides the level count; Bracetti’s review describes his experience.
Voice pickup designed for calls
Bose specifies an eight-microphone system that supports voice pickup. Bracetti particularly praised call quality and wind handling in his review. These points make calls a notable strength, though the review’s judgment should not be read as a guarantee of performance in every environment.
Responsive touch controls
Bose documents tap and swipe controls for functions including volume, playback, track selection, and calls. Bracetti found the controls responsive. Touch operation is convenient when you do not want to reach for a connected device, but it is a different interaction style from physical buttons.

Premium-looking build
Bracetti praised the distinctive unibody appearance, materials, cushions, and finish. Those are subjective design impressions rather than measurable durability claims.
Cons and trade-offs
Battery life is rated at up to 20 hours
Bose says the rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 20 hours of full-featured audio playback. This is the manufacturer’s maximum specification, not an independently measured runtime; actual playback time can vary with use and battery condition. If you need longer sessions between charges, treat that figure as a practical limit to compare against the official ratings of alternatives.

The headphones do not fold
Bracetti identifies the non-folding design as a portability drawback. Bose includes a carrying case, but the headphones’ shape may still take up more room than a folding pair in a tightly packed bag.
The feature set may feel limited beside newer flagships
Bracetti judged the feature set less abundant than he would like. That is a qualitative opinion, not a feature-by-feature comparison with a current model. If newer software features matter to you, check the specific functions and compatibility of the alternative you are considering rather than assuming all current headphones offer the same additions.

Availability and buying considerations
Bose Support identifies the consumer Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 as sold from 2019 to 2024. Availability now may depend on remaining inventory or used and refurbished listings; a refurbished listing noted in April 2025 does not establish present stock or price. Check the particular seller’s condition description, return window, warranty coverage, and included accessories before purchasing. With a used or refurbished pair, battery wear is an additional uncertainty.
Also distinguish the consumer headphones from the separate 700 UC version. Bose describes the UC model as sharing the microphone system and 11 cancellation levels, while adding a pre-paired Bose USB Link and workplace-platform certifications. Do not assume the consumer package includes those UC-specific items. Bose Support’s product page gives the consumer model’s sales dates; the Bose product FAQ covers product details and the UC distinction.

Are Bose 700 headphones worth buying?
They may suit you if adjustable cancellation, call-focused microphones, and touch controls matter more than foldability or longer rated battery life. The case for buying is weaker if you need a compact travel design, want a feature-rich current flagship, or cannot verify the condition and seller protections on the available pair.
For a comparison with current headphones, assess the cancellation controls and transparency, call performance, official battery rating, packed size, controls and connectivity, and the purchase terms for the exact listing. The available sources do not establish a controlled head-to-head result against a current competitor, so compare current official specifications and credible reviews rather than treating the Bose review as a direct ranking.
