How Blockaid’s $33 million funding was split
Blockaid’s October 5, 2023 announcement said it had raised $33 million as it emerged from stealth. On October 23, 2023, The Block reported the breakdown as a $6 million seed round followed by a $27 million Series A. The companies did not disclose how much each investor contributed.

Blockaid’s announcement named Ribbit, Variant, Cyberstarts, Sequoia, and Greylock as its investor syndicate. The $33 million refers to the 2023 seed and Series A financing, not the company’s total funding today.
What Blockaid does
Blockaid builds security software for web3 applications and users. At its October 2023 launch, the company described tools that scan decentralized applications (dApps), simulate blockchain transactions, and validate activity before execution. The goal is to identify fraud, phishing, or malicious behavior before a user completes an interaction.

CEO Ido Ben-Natan told The Block, “We simulate and validate blockchain transactions before they are executed.” He described the dApp Scanning Engine as simulating possible user interactions, with a sandbox checking whether the interactions or the dApp itself are malicious.
Blockaid said at launch that integrations with MetaMask, OpenSea, Rainbow, and Zerion gave it broad transaction visibility. Those integration and reach claims were made by the company in its 2023 announcement.

How the service has broadened
Blockaid’s current About page lists smart contract monitoring, transaction simulation, dApp scanning, token security tools, and onchain and offchain threat hunting. This is the company’s present-day product description, rather than a complete list of what it announced at its 2023 stealth exit.
MetaMask integration: security alerts and privacy design
On October 31, 2023, Consensys announced that MetaMask and Blockaid were launching security alerts in the MetaMask extension. Consensys described a privacy-preserving simulation module designed so that users would not have to share every transaction and signature request with external parties.

The rollout details in that announcement were plans at the time: opt-in availability for desktop began October 31, mobile availability was anticipated later in November, and default enablement was planned for Q1 2024. They do not establish what MetaMask settings or availability are today.

- October 2023 figures reported by The Block: The outlet attributed to Ben-Natan cumulative totals of more than 450 million transactions scanned, over 1.3 million attacks prevented, more than $7.1 billion in assets protected, and over $500 million in losses averted. These are differently worded and scoped from the launch announcement’s six-month figures.
- February 2025 announcement: Blockaid said that since emerging from stealth it had secured over $101 billion in assets, prevented more than $5.3 billion in potential losses, scanned over 2.4 billion transactions, protected over 787 million dApp connections, and detected and blocked more than 71 million attacks.
- Homepage figures accessed October 4, 2026: Blockaid displayed 5.9 billion transactions scanned, $312 billion in assets secured, 527 million attacks prevented, and $13.1 billion in theft prevented.
The cited sources do not provide an independent regulator-published or academic measurement of Blockaid’s prevented losses. Treat the performance numbers as dated company or executive claims, not independently verified outcomes.
How the $33 million fits Blockaid’s later funding
The 2023 stealth-exit financing was followed by a separate Series B. On February 18, 2025, Blockaid announced a $50 million Series B led by Ribbit Capital, with participation from GV and existing investors including Variant and Cyberstarts. Blockaid’s About page, accessed October 4, 2026, reports $83 million raised overall. That cumulative figure is the company’s current reported total as of that access date.

The Block reported that Ido Ben-Natan and Raz Niv founded Blockaid in September 2022. It said both had worked in cybersecurity research and development at Israel’s Unit 8200 and the Office of the Prime Minister. Blockaid’s own description characterizes the founders as former Israeli cyber intelligence operatives.
