Pick based on the browser you use, the page’s scrolling and frame structure, whether you need an image or a PDF, editing and redaction needs, extension permissions, and any limits on tall captures. How to take a full-page screenshot in Firefox
- Open the webpage in Firefox.
- Right-click an empty area of the page and select Take Screenshot. The documented shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on Mac.
- Select Save full page. Choose a visible-area or selected-region capture instead if you do not need the whole page.
- Download the image or copy it.

How to capture a full webpage in Chrome
- Find GoFullPage in its official Chrome Web Store listing and check the publisher, permissions, supported browsers, privacy explanation, and current feature terms before installing it.

- Let it scroll through the visible sections and assemble the result. The extension’s listing asks users to be patient while it captures each section.
- Review the assembled image for missing or duplicated content, then export to the format you need. The listing describes PNG, JPEG, and PDF export, as well as splitting output that is too large for one image.
GoFullPage’s publisher described a temporary Chrome Web Store removal in August 2026 due to a copyright-related issue, followed by restoration and Firefox availability. That history is a reminder that extension availability can change; it is not evidence of a security incident. Check the current store listing before relying on an extension. When a full-page capture can miss content
Scrolling, lazy loading, and changing pages
Scroll-and-stitch tools reveal below-the-fold content by scrolling through the page. Nested scroll regions, custom JavaScript scrolling, lazy-loaded images, animation, and content that keeps loading can change what is captured. Wait for the page to settle where practical, and inspect the final image rather than assuming every section was included. GoFullPage’s documentation acknowledges scroll-based capture and discusses custom scrolling; that does not guarantee compatibility with every site.
Frames and inner scroll regions
Support varies by tool and page. GoFullPage’s listing claims support for inner scrollable elements and embedded iframes. Verify the result on the specific page, especially when important content sits inside a frame or a separate scrolling panel.

Very tall pages and protected surfaces
A large capture may exceed a browser or output limit. GoFullPage says it can split captures that are too large for one image. Extensions also may not be able to capture browser-internal or otherwise protected surfaces; consult the extension’s stated limitations or use the browser’s own screenshot option where available.
Screenshot or PDF: which should you save?
A full-page screenshot is an image of the rendered page. A screenshot-based PDF preserves its appearance, but may be one long bitmap rather than a document with selectable text and useful page breaks. If you need search, text selection, accessibility, or print-friendly pagination, compare the browser’s print-to-PDF output with a screenshot-based PDF. The available sources do not establish one method as universally better.

Privacy and sharing checks
- Inspect an extension’s publisher, permissions, browser support, and privacy explanation before installing it.
- Treat privacy descriptions as the publisher’s claims unless independently audited. FullPage Capture’s listing claims local processing and no network requests; that claim is not an independent audit.
- Review screenshots before sharing. They may expose account details, email addresses, private dashboards, or tokens.
- If you blur or pixelate sensitive content, confirm the exported image actually obscures it before sharing.
Common problems and fixes
The screenshot stops before the bottom of the page
Check whether the page uses a nested scroll area or loads more content as you scroll. Try a tool that claims support for the relevant structure, wait for loading to finish, and inspect the captured sections. No listing claim guarantees success on every page.
Sections are missing, duplicated, or out of order
A page may change while a scroll-and-stitch capture runs, or custom scrolling may not behave as expected. Let animations and loading settle where possible, capture again, and compare the result with the live page. For a page that remains unreliable, try another capture method or take separate screenshots of the relevant regions.

The page is too large for one image
Use a tool that supports splitting oversized output, such as GoFullPage according to its listing, or capture separate sections. Confirm how the exported parts fit together before sharing them as a complete record.
The output is hard to search or print
Choose print-to-PDF when selectable text or conventional page breaks matter, then check the result. A screenshot-based PDF is suited to preserving appearance, not necessarily document structure.

Check the tool’s current claims before installing
Browser extension availability and features can change. Store listings and publisher documentation describe the vendors’ claims, not independently tested capture quality. At the time of the source review, GoFullPage’s Chrome listing showed 11,000,000 users and a 4.9 rating from 84.2K ratings; FullPage Capture’s listing showed 100,000 users and a 4.8 rating from 838 ratings. These are dated, changing store snapshots, not proof of quality. The FullPage Capture listing showed version 1.9.50 and an August 27, 2026 update date. Confirm current browser compatibility, permissions, export options, and paid-feature limits in the relevant listing before depending on them.
