There is no verified, official Steam Deck settings preset for running skate. through ReSkate. EA says Linux and Steam Deck are unsupported, so treat ReSkate as a community workaround—not a certified configuration. Start by checking ReSkate’s supported game build and current installation steps; then use Valve’s general Proton and performance troubleshooting guidance. Results can vary by Deck, SteamOS, Proton, and game build.
Before changing settings: know what is supported
EA’s PC requirements page states that Linux is unsupported and skate. is not compatible with Steam Deck: EA’s PC requirements. ReSkate reports and instructions describe an unofficial workaround; they do not change EA’s support status or establish Valve certification.
Steam’s published minimum PC requirements list Windows 10 64-bit, DirectX 12, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB or Radeon RX 460 4 GB, broadband internet, and 25 GB of storage. Those are PC specifications, not proof of SteamOS compatibility or a forecast of Deck performance: Steam’s skate. listing.
Check ReSkate’s supported game build
ReSkate supports one Steam game build at a time. Its README identifies build 25414733, but that can change; check the live documentation before setup. The launcher checks ReSkate updates and checks the game files against the build it supports: ReSkate project README.

Run the launcher and follow its prompts. If it reports a game-build mismatch, check the README for the currently supported build before changing graphics or Proton settings.
Choose a troubleshooting order for Steam Deck
Update SteamOS and restart

Try a Proton compatibility tool
For a Steam app that needs compatibility troubleshooting, Valve advises trying the latest Proton version. Valve’s guidance says, “Try choosing the latest version of Proton.” Test launch behavior after changing the compatibility tool; the advice is general and does not identify a Proton version guaranteed to work with ReSkate.
Lower graphics load if performance is poor
Valve also suggests reducing graphics settings to lower system load. Begin with the graphics preset or options that are available in the game, then assess whether the change helps. Change one option at a time and note the result alongside the Deck model, SteamOS version, Proton version, and game build; this makes it easier to tell which adjustment affected performance.

What performance reports can—and cannot—tell you
A recent community post describes ReSkate 1.0.3 on a Deck OLED using Proton Experimental and medium-low settings, with an observation of roughly 50–60 FPS. The same user also reported bugs and crashes. This is one person’s experience, not a controlled benchmark or a reliable FPS target for other Decks: community report.
No controlled, comparable settings matrix or benchmark across LCD and OLED Deck models is established by the available sources. Treat specific frame rates, wattage, scaling choices, and graphics presets as anecdotal unless they have been tested on the same hardware and software versions you use.
