If you want a Star Wars game built around a solo story, start with STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order for a focused Jedi adventure. Continue with Jedi: Survivor if you want the next chapter, choose Star Wars Outlaws for an open-world scoundrel story, or pick Star Wars Zero Company for turn-based squad tactics. Squadrons offers a starfighter campaign, while Battlefront II includes a story campaign but puts substantial emphasis on multiplayer too.

There is no objective winner for every player: the best fit depends on whether you want real-time action, an open world, tactical planning, or space combat.

Best Star Wars games with single-player stories

Game Best for Story and gameplay How solo-focused is it?
STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order A focused Jedi story and a clear starting point Third-person action-adventure following Cal Kestis, a Padawan who survived Order 66 and seeks to rebuild the Jedi Order. EA describes it as narratively driven and single-player. PlayStation’s US listing specifies one player and offline play.
STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor Continuing Cal Kestis’s story Third-person action-adventure set five years after Fallen Order. EA says it is single-player, with no co-op or PVP. It can stand alone, though playing the predecessor first provides the story in order.
Star Wars Outlaws An open-world story about a scoundrel Single-player open-world action-adventure set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Presented as a single-player adventure.
Star Wars Zero Company Turn-based squad tactics A story-driven tactical campaign set in the twilight of the Clone Wars. Single-player, with combat built around planning and squad decisions rather than real-time action.
Star Wars: Squadrons Starfighter piloting and space combat A solo story near the end of the Galactic Civil War, focused on flying combat missions. It has a solo campaign as well as multiplayer modes; it is not a single-player-only package.
Star Wars Battlefront II A campaign spanning multiple eras EA describes a single-player story spanning 30 years and all three cinematic eras. The campaign is part of a game whose official description also highlights large multiplayer battles.

Which game should you choose?

Choose Fallen Order for a focused Jedi journey

Fallen Order is the clearest starting recommendation if you want a solo narrative with a Jedi protagonist and real-time, third-person action. Its story follows Cal Kestis after Order 66. EA’s official game page describes it as a narratively driven single-player game. The game launched on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC and was sold in stores as well as digitally, according to EA’s 2019 launch announcement. PlayStation’s US listing identifies PS4 and PS5 versions, one-player play, and offline support. Check your regional store for current price, edition, and stock.

Choose Jedi: Survivor to continue Cal’s story

Jedi: Survivor picks up five years after Fallen Order. EA’s general FAQ says it has five selectable difficulty settings and no co-op or PVP. EA also says the sequel can be played on its own, so the first game is not a prerequisite; release order is still the more satisfying choice if you want Cal’s story from the beginning. Platform listings and availability can vary by local storefront; EA’s buy page lists PC, PlayStation 5 and 4, and Xbox Series X|S and One.

Choose Outlaws if you want a scoundrel, not a Jedi

Star Wars Outlaws trades Jedi-centered action for an open-world adventure about a scoundrel. Its single-player story takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, as described by StarWars.com; Ubisoft’s FAQ identifies it as a single-player open-world action-adventure. It is the best match here if exploring a larger setting and playing outside the Jedi role are more appealing than a tightly focused action-adventure.

Choose Zero Company for tactical squad combat

Star Wars Zero Company is the option for players who would rather plan turns and manage a squad than fight in real time. Its official game page describes a single-player, story-driven turn-based tactics campaign set in the twilight of the Clone Wars. EA announced the game as available in 2026 for PC and current-generation consoles in its availability notice. Check local storefront listings for the platform and edition available to you.

Choose Squadrons for a starfighter campaign

If the appeal of Star Wars is flying ships into combat, Star Wars: Squadrons offers a solo story near the end of the Galactic Civil War. The official game page also lists multiplayer modes, so treat it as a game with a story campaign rather than a solo-only release.

Choose Battlefront II only if multiplayer is also welcome

Star Wars Battlefront II contains a single-player story that EA describes as spanning 30 years and all three cinematic eras. But EA’s official Star Wars catalog also emphasizes large multiplayer battles. It suits players who want a campaign within a broader multiplayer game, not those looking specifically to avoid multiplayer-focused packages.

How to narrow the choice

  • Want a Jedi-led action story? Start with Fallen Order; follow it with Survivor for Cal’s next chapter.
  • Prefer open-world exploration and a scoundrel protagonist? Pick Outlaws.
  • Prefer deliberate, turn-based combat? Pick Zero Company.
  • Want to pilot starfighters? Pick Squadrons, knowing multiplayer is included too.
  • Want a campaign but do not mind a multiplayer-heavy game? Consider Battlefront II.

These recommendations distinguish the games by their official story premise and gameplay format; they are not an objective ranking based on review scores or personal playtesting. Current regional price, stock, and edition availability should be checked with the store where you plan to buy.
