The best settings for smoother performance in Minecraft Dungeons depend on your platform and hardware. Lowering visual effects may trade image quality for smoother play, but there is no benchmark establishing a particular setting or preset as a guaranteed fix. Use the checks below as controlled experiments, not promised FPS gains.
Check your Windows PC against the game’s requirements
The official Minecraft Store listing specifies Windows 10 version 18362.0 or higher, x64 architecture, a Core i5 2.8GHz or equivalent processor, 8 GB memory, a GTX 660 or Radeon HD 7870 or equivalent DirectX 11 graphics card, and 2 GB video memory. These are published minimum requirements, not a guarantee of smooth play or a target frame rate.
The Minecraft Dungeons Steam listing also specifies a Core i5 2.8GHz or equivalent, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 660 or Radeon HD 7870 or equivalent DirectX 11 graphics card, DirectX 11, and 6 GB of storage. Steam notes that “Performance increases with higher-end systems.” Meeting the listed requirements alone does not establish how smoothly the game will run on your particular PC.
On Windows 11, check which GPU runs the game
If your computer has both integrated and dedicated graphics, Windows may let you assign Minecraft Dungeons to the high-performance GPU. This is a targeted check for multi-GPU PCs, not a guaranteed fix.

- Open Settings > System > Display > Graphics.
- Find Minecraft Dungeons in the app list. If it is not listed, add the game using the available browse option.
- Open the game’s graphics preference, select High performance, and save the change.
- Close and restart the game. Microsoft says to restart the app after changing its graphics preference. See Microsoft’s Windows 11 graphics preference instructions.
Test in-game effects one at a time
There is no verified, current list of graphics options available in every PC version of Minecraft Dungeons. Check the options shown in your own game menu rather than assuming an option is present. A Microsoft Q&A response from an Independent Advisor suggests trying V-sync, anti-aliasing quality, shadow quality, and bloom changes. That is user-contributed troubleshooting advice, not an official Mojang or Microsoft recommendation, and it does not establish a proven ideal configuration. The Microsoft Q&A thread does not provide benchmark results for these changes.
- V-sync: If the option exists, compare it enabled and disabled. Disabling it may be worth testing, but tearing can be a tradeoff; the cited advice does not establish the result for every system.
- Anti-aliasing quality: If available, test a lower setting or disable it and compare the image and perceived smoothness.
- Shadow quality: If available, try lowering it and judge whether the visual change is worthwhile.
- Bloom: If available, compare with it disabled, keeping in mind that this changes the image rather than guaranteeing a performance improvement.
Change only one option at a time. Play the same level or repeat a similar situation, then compare both smoothness and image quality. If a change makes the experience worse or the visual tradeoff is not worthwhile, restore the previous value.

Console players: use only options shown in your version
The available sources do not verify a particular performance preset or graphics menu for Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch. Open Minecraft Dungeons’ own settings on your console and experiment only with controls actually shown there. Do not assume that PC options such as anti-aliasing or bloom are available, or that a PC recommendation applies to a console version. Check for game and platform updates if you are troubleshooting an issue.

For a useful comparison, keep the test as consistent as possible: use the same level or situation, alter one variable, and pay attention to both smoothness and image quality. On PC, also consider whether your system meets the published requirements and, if it has multiple GPUs, whether the game is assigned to the high-performance one. No cited source establishes an FPS target or a fixed improvement from any specific setting.
