The best alternative to the Samsung Galaxy A37 5G depends on what you want to change: choose the Google Pixel 10a for a smaller phone with wireless charging, the Nothing Phone 4a Pro for optical zoom, the Moto G Stylus (2026) for handwriting and notes, or a discounted Galaxy A36 5G for a lower-cost Samsung. The Galaxy A57 5G is a step-up option, but its higher launch price makes it worth considering only if its extra capabilities matter to you.
Which Galaxy A37 alternative fits your priority?
Samsung announced a U.S. starting price of $449.99 for the Galaxy A37 5G in 2026. That is a dated launch-price reference, not a current quote; local prices, discounts, storage configurations, and availability can change the comparison. The A37 is also promised up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates. Samsung’s announcement says U.S. availability began April 9, 2026.
| Your priority | Alternative to consider | Why it may fit |
|---|---|---|
| Smaller size and wireless charging | Google Pixel 10a | Its 6.3-inch screen is smaller than the A37’s 6.7-inch screen, and it supports wireless charging. |
| Optical zoom and distinctive design | Nothing Phone 4a Pro | Its 3.5x optical zoom and large display stand out in the cited comparisons. |
| Handwriting and stylus input | Moto G Stylus (2026) | It includes an active stylus for note-taking and other pen-based tasks. |
| Lower-cost Samsung | Samsung Galaxy A36 5G | It may offer better value if discounted enough to justify choosing the previous generation. |
| A more capable Samsung sibling | Samsung Galaxy A57 5G | Consider it if its extra capabilities are useful and the local price premium is acceptable. |
These are priority-based options, not a universal ranking. Before choosing, compare the price you can actually get, remaining software support, screen size and handling, charging, camera needs, stylus use, and carrier and warranty compatibility in your country.
Google Pixel 10a: choose it for a smaller phone and wireless charging
The Pixel 10a is the clearest alternative if the A37 feels too large or you want wireless charging. Android Central contrasts its 6.3-inch screen with the A37’s 6.7-inch display and notes that the A37 offers faster wired charging. That is a meaningful trade-off: the Pixel is the smaller option, while the Samsung favors a larger screen and quicker wired top-ups. Android Central’s comparison discusses those differences.

Android Authority reports that the Pixel 10a has Google’s Tensor G4 chip, 8GB of RAM, and a seven-year update commitment. Support terms and specifications can vary by market or device variant, so verify the terms for the model sold where you live. The cited comparison is useful for identifying feature differences, but it is not a controlled test of every phone. Android Authority’s comparison provides the reported specifications and support context.
Nothing Phone 4a Pro: choose it for optical zoom
If you often photograph distant subjects, the Nothing Phone 4a Pro’s 3.5x optical zoom gives it a specific advantage to consider over a phone without a comparable telephoto option. Android Authority also points to its Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, unusual design, and cleaner software. Tom’s Guide highlights the display and telephoto camera, while identifying a slower processor than the Pixel 10a and the absence of a water-resistance rating as drawbacks. Android Authority’s comparison and Tom’s Guide’s review cover these points.

Tom’s Guide reported more than 18 hours in its own battery test. Treat that as a result from that publication’s testing method, not a guarantee of your screen-on time or a directly comparable result across all phones. If water protection or processor speed is central to your purchase, check the exact model’s specifications and the alternatives’ local ratings rather than assuming the Nothing is the safer or faster choice.
Moto G Stylus (2026): choose it for pen-based work
The Moto G Stylus (2026) is the shortlist option for people who want to jot down notes, mark up content, or use a pen directly on the screen. Android Authority describes it as including an active stylus and supporting 68W charging. In the cited comparison, the Galaxy A37 is favored for its newer processor and stronger software-update policy. Android Authority’s comparison outlines those differences.

Check whether the 2026 model is sold in your country and confirm which stylus functions are supported on the local version. A stylus matters most if you will use it regularly; otherwise, the A37’s processor and update commitment may be more valuable to you.
Galaxy A36 5G: consider it if the discount is substantial
The Galaxy A36 5G is worth comparing when you want to stay with Samsung but spend less. Android Central describes the prior generation as practically similar and a good value at a lower price. That is an editorial assessment, not a guarantee that the A36 is the better buy at every price. Android Central’s A37-versus-A36 comparison provides that perspective.

Check the current price gap and how much software support remains for the specific A36 variant you can buy. If the discount is small, paying more for the newer A37 may make sense; if the A36 is markedly cheaper and meets your needs, it can be the more economical choice. The value decision depends on current local pricing and support terms.

That price difference is a dated U.S. launch comparison rather than a current or global quote. Consider the A57 only if its additional capabilities are useful to you and its current local price makes the upgrade worthwhile; the existence of a higher-tier sibling does not by itself make it the better buy.
How to make the final choice
- Set your real budget. Compare current local prices after discounts, rather than treating Samsung’s U.S. launch price as today’s market price.
- Decide which compromise matters most. Prioritize compact handling and wireless charging, optical zoom, an active stylus, or a lower-cost Samsung, then start with the matching option above.
- Check support and the exact variant. Confirm the update terms, storage configuration, carrier compatibility, warranty coverage, and feature availability for the phone sold in your market.
- Compare the trade-offs you will notice daily. Check screen size, charging preferences, camera needs, and any locally stated water-protection rating before buying.
Android Central says it had not yet tested the A37 camera in its comparison, so its article should not be read as a firsthand comparative camera test.
