If you want the closest documented follow-up to P.T., start with Visage: its developer says the game was heavily inspired by the playable teaser. For a different kind of psychological horror, try Luto for environmental unease, SOMA for existential dread, or Alan Wake 2 for reality-bending storytelling. These games share selected qualities with P.T.; that does not make them all direct successors.
Which game is closest to P.T.?
Visage: the clearest documented influence
Visage is the strongest choice if you want a first-person haunted-house experience and a clearly stated connection to P.T.. Developer SadSquare Studio describes it as a “first-person survival/psychological horror game” and says it was “heavily inspired” by P.T.. That is the studio’s account of its influences, not a claim that the games are identical.
The setting is a house with a terrible history. Rather than tell its story in a straight line, Visage has players piece together events from images and fragments of memory. SadSquare also describes layered storylines and randomized gameplay elements, giving the house and its disturbing history a central role in the experience. SadSquare lists the original release for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Storefronts, regions, and later editions can differ, so check the listing for your platform before buying.

Recommendations by the kind of horror you want
| Game | Best fit if you liked | How it differs from P.T. |
|---|---|---|
| Visage | First-person haunted-house dread; the most clearly documented P.T. influence | A survival-horror game with a larger, fragmented story. The direct influence claim comes from its developer. SadSquare Studio |
| Luto | Environmental unease, obstructed spaces, and unsettling house details | PC Gamer compares its environmental tricks and tension with P.T.-inspired horror, while distinguishing its overt terror from Visage. This is an editorial comparison, not evidence of direct influence. PC Gamer |
| Silent Hill 2 | Psychological narrative and symbolic horror | A broader genre recommendation, not a documented direct successor to P.T.. Games-Genie; PC Gamer |
| SOMA | Existential questions, identity, and vulnerable play | Its underwater setting and philosophical focus create a different kind of dread; combat is not a dependable solution. Games-Genie |
| Alan Wake 2 | Story-driven horror and reality distortion | Its dual-protagonist structure and reality-bending presentation are a different, narrative-led route into psychological horror. Games-Genie; PC Gamer |
| Signalis | Dreamlike identity horror and an unsettling atmosphere | Its retro presentation and identity-collapse themes make it distinct from a first-person haunted-house game. Games-Genie |
| Amnesia: The Dark Descent | Helplessness, darkness, and psychological pressure | A vulnerability-focused horror recommendation rather than a claimed P.T. successor. G2A News |
How to choose your next psychological horror game
- Want a first-person house that feels hostile? Choose Visage for the documented P.T. influence, or Luto for environmental obstruction and unease.
- Prefer story and symbolism over a haunted-house setup? Try Silent Hill 2.
- Want horror that leaves you thinking about identity and existence? Choose SOMA or Signalis.
- Want a more overtly story-led, reality-bending experience? Try Alan Wake 2.
- Want to feel vulnerable rather than powerful? Consider Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
