Ghost of Yōtei takes a different route: PlayStation’s catalog places Atsu’s story in 1603, in the lands around Mount Yōtei. Choose it for a warrior journey grounded in a historical setting rather than superhero fiction, post-apocalyptic science fiction, or myth.

For a story-led alternative
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is the pick when story is the main draw: its premise follows Sam and his allies as they work to save humanity. It is distinct from the more combat- or platforming-forward descriptions of the other games here.
What announced PS5 releases say—and do not say—about ports
PlayStation announced Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis for 2026, describing it as a reimagining of Lara Croft’s 1996 debut, and Tomb Raider: Catalyst for 2027, a new adventure set in Northern India. Those are announced PS5 releases, not evidence that unrelated games are on their way to PS5 or that PlayStation titles have a confirmed schedule for other platforms.

PlayStation’s June 2026 State of Play post gave September 24, 2026 as the launch date for Control Resonant and October 1, 2026 for Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered; both dates have passed as of October 8, 2026. That post also announced God of War Laufey for PS5 without specifying a release date. The announcements alone do not establish current availability or a confirmed date for Laufey, so check PlayStation’s current listings if one of those is the game you are waiting for.

Days Gone Remastered is not a future port to wait for: it was announced for PS5 in February 2025 and has since been released. Its announced additions included improved graphical fidelity, Tempest 3D Audio, DualSense features, Horde Assault, and Permadeath mode.
