That is the recommended-hardware target on the game’s Steam listing, so it’s the sensible place to start. It isn’t a guarantee for every PC or every stage. This guide explains how to use that baseline, when to change resolution, and how to cut the cost of the game in a controlled way if frame rate dips.
The baseline: what SEGA actually publishes
SEGA’s Steam system requirements list two targets. Both are requirement targets set by the publisher, not measured benchmark results.

SEGA also states that an AVX-capable CPU and a D3D10-compatible graphics adapter are required just to launch the game. If the game won’t start on an older processor, check AVX support first.
Note the gap between the two tiers: the minimum is a 30 FPS experience at 720p on Low. If your PC sits closer to the minimum than the recommended column, expect to trade resolution and quality for stability.

Recommended starting settings
- Set the output resolution to your monitor’s native resolution. Running a non-native resolution makes the image soft because the display has to scale it. For a 1080p monitor, that matches SEGA’s recommended target exactly.
- Choose High quality if your hardware is at or near the recommended column.
- Play a demanding stretch of a level, not just a menu or a cutscene, and see whether you hold 60 FPS.
- Only if it doesn’t, lower things one step at a time (see below) and re-test after each change.
Exact menu labels and ordering can change with patches, and SEGA’s online manual doesn’t list every PC option. SEGA’s manual does say: “For PC, more detailed display settings are available.” Use the in-game options screen as your source of truth for what’s adjustable right now.
Resolution: 1080p, 1440p and 4K
1080p displays
This is the published target. Native 1080p with High settings is the starting point, and the lowest-risk way to chase 60 FPS.

Displays above 1080p
PCGamingWiki, a community-maintained reference, reports that the game supports 4K output. That means the resolution can be selected; it does not mean SEGA promises 4K at 60 FPS. SEGA’s published figures stop at 1080p. If you have a 1440p or 4K display, keep the native resolution first, then reduce quality settings or rendering scale if the frame rate falls short. Dropping to a non-native resolution is the last resort.
Upscaling and rendering scale
PCGamingWiki lists FXAA and TAA anti-aliasing and FSR 1 support, and says FSR is forcefully enabled in connection with rendering scale. This is a secondary-source note and may depend on game version, so check what your current build does when you change rendering scale. The same page mentions a way to disable it using Hedge Mod Manager; that’s a third-party modification which hasn’t been verified here, so treat it with caution and don’t rely on it for a supported setup.

Practically, lowering rendering scale is a performance lever that trades sharpness for frame rate. FSR 1 is a spatial upscaler, so it softens the image more than native rendering does.
Frame rate: what to expect
- Gameplay target: SEGA lists 60 FPS for the recommended tier. The Steam listing doesn’t describe a maximum gameplay frame-rate cap, so don’t assume one either way.
- Cutscenes and videos: PCGamingWiki reports that most in-game cutscenes and pre-rendered videos are locked at 30 FPS. If cutscenes look less smooth than gameplay, that’s reported to be by design, not a sign your settings are wrong.
- Refresh rate: a display of at least 60 Hz is needed to see a 60 FPS target in full. If your current monitor already does this, there’s no reason to buy a new one.
How to improve performance step by step
No controlled benchmarks exist for this game in the sources available, so the cost of any single setting hasn’t been measured and no specific gain can be promised. Use this as a decision framework instead, changing one thing at a time and re-testing in the same section of a level.

Judge success by stability against the 60 FPS target, not by a single peak number. A steady 60 feels better than one that swings widely. Also confirm your PC meets the minimum requirements, including 8 GB of RAM and enough free storage (35.3 GB), before blaming settings.

SEGA’s manual describes a quality/performance choice for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. That’s a console feature. Don’t expect the same two-mode switch on PC, where the manual says more detailed display settings are available instead.
