If you want wireless, compare the separate 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless variant. These are US price snapshots from 2026, not live quotes: the wired 8BitDo was listed at $19.99, the GameSir at $44.99, and the DualSense at around $60. Check the exact listing and price before buying.
Which PC controller should you buy under the DualSense price?
Choose based on connection first, then on layout and features. The GameSir G7 SE is wired, so it suits a desk setup where a cable is acceptable. The 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wired is the lower-priced option in the cited 2026 roundup. If you prefer wireless, the Ultimate 2C Wireless is a distinct model; do not assume its price or features match the wired version.
The cited US price snapshots put the GameSir G7 SE at $44.99 at Amazon, according to Windows Central; GamepadSquire listed the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wired at $19.99. TechRadar’s 2026 comparison described the DualSense as around $60. These are source-reported snapshots, not verified checkout prices, and availability and promotions can change.

What each controller offers
GameSir G7 SE: wired controls and rear buttons
Windows Central describes the G7 SE as a compact wired controller for Xbox and PC. It lists Hall Effect joysticks and triggers, two remappable rear buttons with lock switches, audio controls on the D-pad, a 3.5mm audio jack, and GameSir Nexus app support. Its cable is the key trade-off: it is not a wireless choice. Windows Central reviewer Zachary Boddy wrote, “If this controller was wireless, we might be recommending it above Microsoft’s own option.” That is the reviewer’s opinion, not a manufacturer claim.

8BitDo Ultimate 2C: check the variant carefully
The cited $19.99 price applies to the Ultimate 2C Wired in GamepadSquire’s 2026 roundup. Separate product documentation hosted by Manuals.plus covers the Ultimate 2C Wireless, identifying Windows PC and Android support, Hall Effect joysticks and triggers, remappable L4/R4 bumpers, and 1000Hz polling over wired and 2.4GHz connections. The polling figure is from product documentation, not an independent test. Confirm the model name and connection type on the product listing before comparing price or features.
Check game support and connection before you buy
A controller that connects to a PC may still not work equally well in every game. Tom’s Guide recommends weighing connection type and modes, comfort, battery life, software, price, and whether the game supports controllers. Steam’s controller configuration can adjust supported inputs, but it cannot create native controller support in a game that lacks it. See Tom’s Guide’s PC controller guide for its buying considerations.

- Game compatibility: Check the individual game’s controller support and how it handles your chosen controller.
- Controls and software: Confirm that remappable buttons or companion software are useful to you, rather than paying for features you will not use.
- Battery needs: For wireless play, check how the specific model is powered and what battery life is stated; the cited material does not establish battery-life figures for these models.
Are Hall Effect sticks enough reason to choose one?
Hall Effect sticks and triggers are a feature to consider if you are concerned about stick drift, but they do not establish that a controller will never drift or prove its long-term lifespan. Tom’s Guide advises comparing them alongside connection, shape, button feel, battery life, software, and price. On the G7 SE, the documented Hall Effect components are paired with a wired connection; the Ultimate 2C Wireless documentation also specifies Hall Effect joysticks and triggers.
